Queen receive a special BPI awards for their outstanding contribution to British music and hold a 20th anniversary party that goes on all night. The party is held at a club in Soho called Groucho's. Everyone who had ever worked with the band was tracked down and invited.

Queen terminate their contract with Capitol in the USA and sign a major new deal with the Disney owned Hollywood Records, for a sum in excess of $10,000,000. They resign with EMI for the rest of the world. Brian composes and records his first work for the London stage - Macbeth. Roger and The Cross record their second album whilst Queen records their next album.
