  1. Light Show

When Queen became big, light shows were quite new and so they became pioneers in a certain way. In the meantime this development has come to some end. And it's nearly impossible to come up with something new. But I no...

  2. the remastered vinyls, digitally remastered?

Holly2003 wrote: They're just sticking to the post-Fred policy of minimum effort for maximum profit. Quality control on Queen products died with Fred. I think it has more to do with EMI nowadays trying to produce as c...

  3. the remastered vinyls, digitally remastered?

The original vinyls still sound best. Also the covers of the recent EMI versions look very dubious, very grainy with less detail and contrast. They look as if the sources were just scans of the original album covers.

  4. sterile discussions (archivist/Queen+PR.. etc etc..)

brENski wrote: "have you listened to the remasters? or do you even know what a remaster is? because the remastering of those old lps is better than anything we've heard before...." Take the original Beatles CDs, raise...

  6. Songs That Didn't Work Out Live

"Never liked GDML live. Boring. And the gap is deadly boring. :P" You are right when it comes to audio concert recordings. But when you where there and saw the lights and "felt" the sound, it was far from being boring.

  7. maybe the end has come.

I would never dare to tell them what to do next with their lives. I think they know best what to do.

  8. Killer Queen Live

"The bridge in between the solos in definetly possible with one guitar. I have done it and I have witnessed other tribute bands doing it...So there must be another theory...especially since the first part of the solo...

  9. Killer Queen Live

"Killer Queen" was always part of some medley. The song obviously was too difficult to do live in it's full glory, as some parts simply rely on multitracked vocals and guitar harmonies. So I guess Brian May decided to...

  10. How many live DVDs do we need?

Although there is no strategy behind it I noticed, that usually I watch a concert video just once. And then maybe years later I watch it again or mostly just parts of it. So somehow my appetite for those concerts, tha...

  11. Cool Cat

No one knowing anything about this song? I mean I went through the archive before and could not find anything substantial there. So is this Bowie version song still a mystery after 28 years ?

  12. False handclapping WWRY

What made the original version of "We will rock you" so special was this simple rhythm of "Stomp Stomp - Clap". But I never understood (nor liked) the wrong clapping in every live version including the musical. Cause...

  13. Songs That Didn't Work Out Live

"Flash" did not work live, "Who wants to live forever" sounded also very thin with the synthesizer, "Rock it" also didn't really work. I fully agree on Bicycle Race, I remember hearing it live in concert and I just re...

  14. Cool Cat

Sadly there is no book about Queen available like the "Beatles Recording Sessions". So maybe some people here know details about certain tracks. And I'd like to start with "Cool Cat" - The David Bowie Version. On most...

  15. Queen Acetates

Don't worry Olivier, I have nothing against anyone here and I'm not intending to attack any people. I'm also a long time collector - although I may collect a bit different. And I was only making a general comment on c...

"It's out there. A member of this forum (who, it appears, has already fessed up to owning it) has it in his possession." As long as I don't hear it, I remain sceptical. In this internet world it's so easy to create my...

  18. Queen Acetates

I remain very sceptical. Acetates are extremely rare as every acetate is an original. I doubt that they found their way into the collectors market. And the ones you describe could easily be faked by those, that have t...

  19. Do you think Freddie could sing the Barcelona Songs live?

Mr Mullen certainly does a great job impersonating Freddie. But I doubt that any member of Queen would feel good performing on stage with someone trying to copy Freddie, who was not only "a band member" but also part...

  20. Queen Acetates

"The latter is a Japanese pressing, almost certainly a test pressing for the Japanese single release. I'll post pictures when I have the chance." I'm confused - how can an acetate be a "pressing"? Acetates were cut di...
