Cliff Richard & Freddie Mercury | Soundboard Audio + Spleeter
Just out of interest - are we 100% they didn't perform to playback? It's a hell of a vocal from Fred.

Hammer to fall
HTF is pitched slightly lower than A right? Which suggests it was slowed down. An odd thing to do to a hard and fast rock song isn't it?

Gary Barlow & Alfie Boe - Don't Stop Me Now
Alfie Boe is a good example of how you can sing with perfect technique and still sound terrible.

BBC4 (UK) Top Of The Pops re-runs
Imagine playing The Miracle to someone who didn't like Queen to try and change their mind. It would be humiliating. Their worst album (and Freddie's only bad album, vocally) in my view, but I understand lots of people...

New online tool to make up to five music stems for any song!
That is quite amazing on Feel Like. Would love to see it applied to more rough demos like that.

Spotify and monthly listeners
Not necessarily. Obviously The Beatles have had way more impact and redefined pop music way more than Queen. But that doesn't necessarily mean their music will date better. It's really hard to pin down why some music...

Spotify and monthly listeners
Thanks, looking forward to it.

Spotify and monthly listeners
It's true that it's to some extent about fashion. But as a Queen fan part of me wants to think that Queen's music is just better and therefore will be enjoyed by younger generations more than others'. Can't someone ju...

Spotify and monthly listeners
They obviously received a boost from the movie, but they were still the biggest classic artist prior to that. And anyway, Elton John's had a film out more recently, and his streaming numbers are nowhere near Queen's....

Spotify and monthly listeners
This article has lots of interesting statistics regarding Queen and Spotify: https://chartmasters.org/2019/12/spotify-all-time-most-streamed-artists/ They are really smashing it on there. Currently 22nd in terms of mo...

Under Pressure RAH mix question
This is super-interesting, thanks so much for sharing. I actually prefer the People On Streets theme to the Under Pressure theme.

How many monthly listeners did Queen have on spotify before the movie?
I can't remember the listeners figure, but they were generally ranked between about 70 and 90 in the world - so they've certainly moved up quite a few positions since the film.

What multitracks are out there?
This is brilliant. Nice to be able to hear that they're singing 'and I mean to go on' in the pre-chorus harmonies. Makes more sense than 'and I need to go on'.

Machines (Or Back To Humans)
I think it's shit.

"New" Freddie Mercury track to be released
Lovely to hear the vocal up close. Hopefully the start of a bigger project.

Under Pressure RAH mix question
Thanks so much for these outtakes. Really exciting to listen to. We'd all be hugely appreciative if you were able to post anymore.

Did Freddie really has a throat problem during LiveAid?
Do we know the source of this? I've heard people like Paul Gambaccini say it, but I also feel like I've heard Peter Freestone say he had no recollection of it (possible in Gregsynth's interview with him, or am I makin...

Spread Your Wings buried alternative vocal
This is interesting, thanks for this. I was listening to the bass track for Don't Stop Me Now the other day, and if you turn the volume right up you can hear a guide vocal with different melodies and unfinished lyrics.

Interview with Sound Designers who worked on the movie
I thought Marc was singing in the Live Aid sequence when I was in the cinema, but having listened to it on YouTube (and compared it to the Live Aid audio in Adobe Audition) it is genuinely Freddie's voice throughout....

The origin of We Are The Champions?
So if Fred wrote WATC in 1975, NOTW was a pretty bad album for him, writing-wise, wasn't it? Only two songs, and one of them was Get Down Make Love! Christ.
