Should Queen do something like The Beatles's "Love" album?

Though some of the recordings we have on the CD's today are remastered, does anything think someone should work on a whole new remastered Queen album?

For people that haven't heard of Love, it's alot of the Beatles's songs spliced together as some sort of medley. There are many parts from different songs and different takes used in the songs. The songs have been remastered and re-arranged, some even shortened.

P.S. Yes I'm being serious.

The Beatles shouldn't have even have had one, let alone Queen.

In my opinion, I thought the Beatles Love album was terrible. It's really hard for me to sit through the whole thing. The edits and splices are really distracting.

For me.... some bits of Love worked, and some were just plain stupid. Particularly Octopus' Garden, that did not work at all (using the orchestration from that lullaby song they did.....).

I wouldn't really like a similar thing from Queen. I do get curious sometimes, thinking that perhaps "You Don't Fool Me" would sound better with a more understated instrumentation (like Another One Bites the Dust) or if "One Year of Love" was done rockier, like the Queen version of "I Was Born To Love You".

But nah.... can't say a 'Love' style album by Queen would be all that good an idea.

If the remaining Beatles jump off a cliff should Roger, John and Brian do it too?

It's an interesting thought, regardless of the cold reception your question has received. I thought the "Love" album tracks idea was a good one. And remember, it wasn't made as an album to be sold, although that was always a possibility. It was made for the cirque de soleil.

Very interesting idea you have there. But I can't be sure how it would work with Queen's music. Someone in the fanmix community should give it a try with the surround mixes that are available and anything else they want to throw in.

Critics to the idea be damned. It's worth a go for those with the skills and ideas. I'm not sure I would have the patience for such a project. And to be honest, I'm most happy when recording, rather than mixing ideas like this.

I prefer this than a "new" Queen album with Paul Rodgers. Queen always liked to experiment and it could be interesting

A mate of mine mixed me a Queen album with songs overlapping each other or segments playing together & it was excellent. But it wasn't the real thing. And the Beatles thing sounded like a cash in to me altho I admit I haven't heard it.

I really disliked the Beatle's Love album. It really seemed like a Christmas cash grab.

I didn't like the DJ Danger Mouse's Grey Album either, but at least the spirit was to create and a lot of people digged it.

I'm all for unauthorized mixes.

as a long-time beatles fan i had doubts about it....but i remember posting some time ago on here...saying how refreshing it was...i think the whole thing was a genuine labout of "love" and not the cash-in some suspect.
Having Giles Martin and his dad (George) - original beatles knob-twiddler involved in production actually made these songs gain a new dimension. One final point - i know some people think messing with originals is heresy - but surely the fan mixes and mashups that are so commonplace now are nothing more than "love" ?

Octopus' Garden sounds fantastic when played at full volume. The elements from Yellow submarine and Goodnight really work well in the song

Hmmmm... I really refer to the intro. Basically, his vocal line does not gel very well with the orchestration; soundwise, it's well done, but musically it jars. Tis all I mean.

Definitely! I think it's a really cute idea. Just like gather up their best hits...and remix them all. Splendid. :)
