It's not Nazism. It's very simple. You're offered something, and you give them something of equal collectible value in return. Some things leak after a while, and some don't. But once they've leaked, they no longer have collectible value. So, if you share your rare stuff, what will you give someone when you're offered something rare?

If some people can't understand this concept, that's not any collector's fault. It's been like this for decades. It certainly didn't start with Queen collectors!
I just don't think that I'm talking without knowing nothing about it....in fact I'm not the only one thinkin' in this way....
Yeah, but once again, it's only people who aren't collectors who disagree with the way things work.

For me is collecting its real records (masters) not some shity sound files.... & shity mp3s or other sound files should be free.
Such a same people pay money for it & feed bloodsuckers.

And what's the difference between a bloody record and a bloody MP3? Sometimes the MP3 has a much greater value than the record! But I bet you wouldn't send me your records for free.

The collectors have their hands tied with restrictions. If I give away a demo, I will never get any other demo anymore. Nobody - and I mean NOBODY - of you would behave in a different way than I do. You all keep on saying how you would share - how easy it is to say so! Because you don't have any rarity.

Would you all break promises and share rarities with others? Even if it means you would never get any more rarities? No. Listen to how excited all of you get over a 22 seconds sample of Face It Alone. Everybody is dying to hear unreleased recordings. Nobody would risk to break his access to rarities by sharing an MP3 with others.

At that time the rarities didn't leak. We were happy about any live snippet we came across and we were happy to share them too. I also shared some of my live recordings. But trust me, these demos are a completely different league.

well....I understand....
but if everything was shared...you wouldn't need to keep your rarities to give them in return of other rarities...
do you know what I mean??
if all the rarities are shared...nothing remains to be given in return....because there will be no more stuff to be offered..
it's more simple than the current system...isn't it??
unless you don't like to hear people saying 'thank you for this song' ecc...and you want to comment those rarities just with your dog....and not with a community of big fans...
it's up to you...my dear..!!

I too miss #Queen IRC a lot. Missfire, Drowse, and Cool Cat are some of the very good friends I don't get in touch ever since. On the other hand, luckily Wilki and The Guvnor (Javier) are treasured friends since then.

What was your nick, Pierre?

So could anyone help me please with information about what is of this track? e.g. When it was written? Was it destined for a certain album? Who was 'main' writer? Any other points of interest - would be very much appreciated...This little snippet is now constantly running around in my head - anyone else getting that 'symptom'!? Kind regards to all..and again many many thanks to CD.

Well, it´s the old discussion again.
I respect both sides, but as i said in the past my view is that there´s nothing that special or valuable in music in general for people to behave like that!

SirGH is an exception among others and i really recognize (and said so in his posts) that he spends too much time searching for the best and sharing it with us. I really appreciated, but the reason he spends too much time negotiating and sometimes not getting anywhere is because he´s dealing with die hard collectors and not with someone like me ; )

Let me explain:

I started to collect Queen Vinyls for some time now, and i think i have some "valuable things" that i will never guive them to anybody, or sell them.
But let´s say i own a very rare Queen single and the only way for people to hear this is to buy the single. In this case i would provide an mp3 or Flac for free. I would still have what´s valuable for me wich is the Single.

Someone from Queenzone started a trade with me (i will not say his name) and he asked me for how much he could ask. I said ask everything you want, if i have it i will send the stuff to you and then you send the stuff i want plus the blanks DVD´s. So, i´ve send him 28 DVD´s worth material and he´ve sent me about half plus the blank DVD´s.
I was totally honest with what i´ve got and he was totally honest with what he´s got, and instead of loosing time "negotiating" we just made our list and trade what we got.

Man, ´he has sent me wondefull DVD´s that if i was a die hard collector i was never going to obtain because when you close yourself behind what you´ve got people get tired and close themselves too! This, in my opinion it´s not the best situatuion.

So, within one month i´m with 18 new DVD´s of Queen related stuff (wonderfull stuff) and he´s with 30 new Queen DVD´s stuff.

To me, this is more fun and enjoyable than the time consuming trades.

I´m gonna say this:
if i was the guy who recorded this from the convention i would:

1. Share it with you the next day (for free), or;

2. respect Greg Brooks request for not recording and don´t share it with anyone;

because people often talk about blacklists, and integrity of traders, and so on, but what is there to say about a song wich wasn´t meant to be recorded on a convention, had the trader with "integrity" respected Greg Brooks request and even taking the risk to prejudice future conventions at the risk of Jim Beach don´t guive permission to anymore rare demos?

My point is:
people make big deal about things with no meaning AT ALL!

Take care
A demo from 1990 from the Innuendo sessions. It's one of the longer demos, because this one has a running time of 10 minutes. It's something like a three-piece demo.
Heap big woman you made an asshole outta me....gimme your bums and ride!!!!!!
Thanks 'Tiger'. I had an idea it was from Innuendo sessions, however what made me curious is that Freddie's voice sounds more in the 'Miracle' vein with FIA. I.e. He really had an unique sound with Innuendo (perhaps due to illness?) and in this snippet his voice is full as with the 'Miarcle'.
NOt doubting it is from Innuendo, just an observation.
It is likely authentic, considering that Jeroen is promising retaliation against CD and his friend.

It is the same old story -

1. Very rare song or concert is leaked.
2. Top dog traders are outraged and threaten retaliation (blacklisting).

This time the mortal sin is over a 22 second sample from a 10 minute song.
Err... No, not realy.
If I made you get that impression that was the wrong one. I have nothing against CD (at all!) nor his friend. Nor HIS friend nor HIS friend etc...

Neither do I have any problem in FIA being shared in here AT ALL.

But don't ask ME to share it because I am not allowed to do so. See, I once got this song by promising my donor NOT to share it. As I am a man of my word, I WON'T! Unless my donor tells me I am allowed to. Simple as that.

What I was referring to is someone else. Someone else that turned out to be a man of NOT keeping his word. I won't bother you with the details, but there is something, a sound, in this snippet -unaudiable for one that does not know what to hear- that actually prove that to me. The person I am referring to IS on this board. What I posted was meant for THIS person. To let him know that I know.

It was obviously THIS person that CD referred to that was pissed off because of him posting this snippet. Because he KNEW that I would with this find out that he lied to me and blew his relationship with me.

Hope this was enlightening enough.

And the retaliation? In life in general: If someone lies to you, if someone cheats on you, if someone misuses your trust - would you just say 'ah well' and just go on like nothing happened?
I see no problem with you refusing to trade with CD or his friend, if you feel they do not meet your standards for trustworthiness, but the sarcastic nature of your response to CD and your use of the word "treason" implied to me that you were considering a more severe "punishment".

As you did not share the snippet of FIA with CD's friend, I do not see how you could be really upset with CD's friend. The trader who shared FIA with CD's friend is the person who should be upset (if the trader gave instuctions not to share FIA).

However, only 22 second mp3 snippet of a 3 part, 10 minute song. To me, CD's friend's crime is only a misdemeaner as nothing even approaching the full version was shared. I do not see how FIA's trading value would be decreased by this snippet. I would think that this snippet would whet appetites, and increase the number of people wanting to trade for it.

I hope CD's friend will be allowed a chance for redemption, and I hope the inner trading circle will not ban him for life without a chance for parole.
