"A Nigth At The Opera" & "A Day At The Races" MOVIES

Hello fellers
yesterday i found two movies one called :
A Nigth At The Opera
and the other called:
A Day At The Races
Both are From Marx Brothers movies both are comedy
So i wonder Queen's albums were titled by refering to these movies plz if anybody knows about this i want to know

Yes, both albums were named after both movies. I believe the band were watching "A Night at the Opera" late at night and they found it to be a fitting title for the album they were working on. The following album was named "A Day at the Races" just to be cute.

they where going to call the next album(news of the world) duck soup( another marx brothers movie), but then thought it would be tacky.

There's also a funny story saying that Groucho Marx wrote our boys a letter suggesting they call their next effort after his latest movie named The Rolling Stones' Greatest Hits ...

i wonder who sung it, i assume freddie, but i always prefered brian singing it.

it wasnt freddie, Groucho Marx told Queen to fucking sing, and i dont think there are any recordings.

Yes Queen based their two albums on these movies if you watch this dvd on how Queen made A night of the opera album it explains all !

That "fucking sing" story, as told by Roger. Is just classic.

Sympathy the dvd is called the making of a night at the opera and brian and roger talk about the album and all the tracks and then on the other disk it shows video's of the songs on the album very very very interesting !

I wish there was a dvd for a day at the races but sadly i havent found one :(

For some reason I don't think there will ever be a DVD analyzing A Day at the Races. A Night at the Opera overshadows it

True i mean a night at the opera was their best album in my oppion but it would be nice to have a day at the races oh well !
