In particular, children whose parents are too damn cheap to let them go to a proper hairstylist and instead choose to do the job themselves.

LOL, you have too much time on your hands.

But then, so do I, because I looked at them.

How can you people laugh at such atrocities? I've been there myself not long ago... but this happened because I was looking at the ceiling while that barbarian was cutting my hair... what a nice ceiling that was! Anyway, I am lucky because my hair grows very fast! YEY! and I threw away the paper bag I used to wear on top of my head! FREEDOM!

Third one reminds me of my cousin...when he was growing up he always had a rat tail.

I was a victim of a bad haircut. When I was in preschool my hair was cut so short I looked like a boy. My mum said that some kid even came up to me and asked if I was a boy or girl. haha

That hair cut is what makes me keep my hair so long today. :P

I've been a victim a couple of times.

My dad was sort of a homophobe back in the 80s, and he didn't like us to going to the same hair salon my mom used to go frequent (which needless to say was run by flamboyant gay dudes). So my mom took some haircut classes, and she has pretty much been doing my dad's hair ever since, and mine up until my teens. While I was around 7 or 8 ad my mom was learning hairstyling she made a couple of boo-boos with my hair. The next day kids in my school were making fun of me and I came home crying, so my mom had no choice but to take me to the pros.

The other time I was a bad haircut victim was thanks to myself. That was when little boys were wearing those awful mushroom-head haircuts from the early 80s (like this one...http://www.flickr.com/photos/yjsoon/197182220/) and some lady commented that I looked like some kid from a TV show (I forgot which one). I felt very offended and I grabbed a pair of scissors and I got rid of the hair covering my forehead, which then made me look even worse.

If you thought that the worst things about the 80s were The Cold War, the Iran-Contras affair, and the constant global battle between extreme left and right...

Gasp! That's terrible. At least my cousin was a cutie.
