If you really like her, and you have no bad intentions, then it could probably work out. Besides, it's not like you're 18 or 21. In that case, you would be an adult and she would be a child. Now that's like child abuse. lol. But then again...12 seems too young...Good luck =] and next time : www.advicenators.com
I think that both sets of parents should know and be okay with it.

I'm going to be honest - unless that girl is amazingly far along the path of development, it's a little weird.

You're mostly done puberty while she's just starting. She's likely not to have many defining characteristics of something ready for romance.

Friends, sure. People who are 82 can be friends with 12 year olds.

But I can't see why you would want a romantic relationship with a young child. She's going to change - she's not even yet aware that she "doesn't know who she is".

I'm not sure if it's fair to HER to try dating her. Then again, kids are starting younger and younger - and I'm not cynically speaking of purely sex.

Four years makes less of a difference once a person is fully developed (but that doesn't mean "it's okay to start now"). For instance, at 30 and 34. What you want with your life and where you are makes a difference, too. At 12, she hasn't even gotten in to puberty, let alone decided where she's going to college or anything.
i know.

12seems to young

but...

i was born 4months to earluy.

i had a brother who didnt survived and died ten days after his birth.

we where very sick./

ive had oxygen to much.

so im sometimes 12 in my head and we are almost identical if its comming on to vocal range and power.

and now for the last time ever:GREETZ!!!!!!!!!!11

If you're a real person, and this is not made up - and so on and so forth...

Talk to the girl's parents. Talk to yours. They are the only ones you need to convince that this is the right thing - whether it "is" right or wrong.

Still, it doesn't seem fair to her. She's 12. TWELVE. Her breasts, let alone her brains aren't fully developed (neither are yours for that matter - but even if you were born late, you are considerably farther along than she is).

She is a child.

You are a teen.

There's a mild difference. Your "life experience" is years apart and at your ages - that is AGES.

You learn a lot about yourself going through puberty. Most people change.

Are you sexually attracted to her or are you simply fond of her ? Because, you know - you don't have to date everyone you are fond of. And if you ARE sexually attracted to her, that's a bit worrisome as at 12, she likely lacks the defining qualities of a mature woman - which yes, though you are 16, is more than a little suggestive of pedophilia.

People go through phases, people can have a freak attraction.

But I think the fact that she's a 12 year old girl should be enough for you. She's developing. You can be friends, no one would argue with that - but she is a child and no matter you manner of birth - unless you are mentally retarded, you are not.

Be friends. Romantic involvement is beyond "iffy".
Seems a little strange to me.

I wouldn't go for it, if I were you.

Well, actually, I'd never fall in love with a 12 year-old in the first place.

And yes, I'll have to agree with Charles on this one: It may be bordering on, you know... pedophilia.

But then again, it's your decision.

EDIT: Innuendo1990, what's with the vocal range fetish?

How do you know that!?
Having your period doesn't mean you're no longer a child.

It's her first period. She might not get the next one for MONTHS. She won't be "regular" for perhaps years. Her hips are just STARTING to widen. She is nowhere near what most people would recognise as "woman".

A period doesn't mean "I have stopped developing and now I am a woman". Most likely she still has a long way to go before she has child-bearing hips or full breasts.

Most likely she still has a LONG WAY TO GO before she's at the place where a 16 year old girl is.

No, she's still twelve.

Her physical state is not directly reflective of her mind.

Ask ANY girl of 16. If she's not chained inside by her parents and has developed in a minorly normal manner - she will tell you she was not a woman at 12. She will tell you she wasn't done developing at 12. She will most likely feel like she's a different person now or has realised much more about herself.
Also - I would like to mention that her dear precious vocal range is going to change.

Girls' voices lower, too - just not to such a level as boys' do.

And in most cases her upper range is going to come down.

TRIFE

I wouldn't ask her within the next week. The cramps might affect her judgment.

This is a really freaky topic.
