Is this Queen's "Flash" theme or not?

As some of you may know, the Sci-Fi Channel will air a new "Flash Gordon" TV series this year. Right now, if you click this link:

you can hear sci-fi running a quick promo using Queen's "Flash" but it doesn't sound like Queen to me but a cover of it. What do you guys think?

It's hard to say as the audio quality is crap.

I think it sounds like the original sped up.

I listened to it a couple of times the other day and I didn't think it was the original. From what I've read about the show, I won't be disappointed if the Queen original isn't associated with it.

Someone told me the Flash Gordon movie remake scheduled for 2008 has been scrapped...I hope they're right.

It's NOT the Queen version. Don't the vocals tell you that??

Anyway, I too have heard this show is going to suck bigtime.

i agree...the vocals just dont sound right, but the quality is terrible, so that might be why.

You know,they could at least do what the "Highlander" tv series did and pick another song from that film.
I'd say "The Battle" or "Football Fight".What do you say?

Use "The Hero"! Great show theme right there. It's a Queen "Flash Gordon" song people aren't as familiar with, and the producers also wouldn't have the burden of trying to get a new band to write something up to Queen's standards.

Plus it could finally be released as a single. :)

Definatly NOT Queen.. It's a woman on vocals. I can understand them trying to polish the song up... but for christ sake.. this sounds worst than most of my Random Orchestra Plays Queen CD's!

Could be some effect put on the vocals, maybe? I dunno...

It sounds different, it may just be me but it sounds to me like the guitar at the end of that clip doesn't sound right. :S
