We already know how bad your taste in music (and facial hair) is, no need to prove it by making a thread about one of the weakest Queen songs ever (musicaly speaking).

There's a lot of nice people on this forum, but there's also a lot of mean morons like Penetration something on this site.
DTSH is one of Queen's best song. A great one. This song produces a lot of image in my mind. Everytime I listen to it, I imagine a waterfall or Freddie on top of a mountain. On the visual note, this song is very strong.

Yeah, Don't try so hard is a great song !!
Feelings in the song is very appropriate.

Don't Try So Hard has to be one of Queen's most splendid compositions. Musically speaking it was brilliant and to say it's not is utter trash. You could not like the song personally, but no one should ever make such false accusations without evidence or support to prove it.
I would also like to point out that the very meaning of the song is wonderful. Just say it to yourself, "don't try so hard." For some people, such as myself, we took that lyric very seriously and used it to relax ourselves in a way. Hell, even the sounds Queen made in that song were simply relaxing. In a word the song was quite 'exquisite.'

It's simply beautiful
Yea imagine if they would have scrapped the video for headlong or slightly mad and done a video for Dont try so hard instead...
I bet it would have been a very successful single.

No doubt about it, but why not keep the Headlong and I'm Going Slightly Mad videos and 'add' Don't Try So Hard.
I <3 DTSH... Those high-notes send chills up my spine!
For such a great album, this is a high point, and thats saying something. It's got such potence throughout and this song adds to it in the best possible way. Definetly one of my favorites...

It's very odd, I couldn't stand it when I first heard it ... but I was 17. Maybe my tastes have evolved - maybe they'll evolve again and I'll wind up hating it....
Well anyway. I like it. Lots. Meh!

What a guitar solo! Great emotive vocals, too. The song really grows on you. Love it now.
The best song to listen to before an interview, ...or playing golf, next to the LK version of Spread Your Wings.
they work half the time.....
they work half the time.....
I adore the line -
'Oh what a beautiful world
Is this the life for me'
