Small children + Queen... awww

I work as a summer camp counselor, and I was talking with a few of the seven-year-olds about Queen.

Some interesting questions/comments:

Girl (after taking one look at MIH cover, pointing to statue): Is he dead?

Girl: Were the other Queen guys sad when Freddie died?
Me: Yes, they were.
Girl: Now they don't have a lead singer anymore.

Girl: Was this (the FM tribute concert) before Freddie died?
Me: It was after Freddie died.
Girl: Then how did they sing the songs?
Me: A lot of different people sang them.
Girl: But if lots of different people were singing the songs, wouldn't they get confused?

Girl: *looking picture from Princes of the Universe vid* "I think Freddie will lose because he just has the microphone stand."

Girl: Is that his REAL hair? (Brian)

Girl: *looking at the IWTBF video snapshot* You can tell that's a boy dressed as a girl. He's got hairy legs.

Girl: Did he take his shirt off in front of an AUDIENCE?! Freddie is CRAZY!

Other Girl: What kinds of bugs did they like?

Girl: Were his friends mad when he did an album by himself?

Me: And then they put an ad in the paper and John called up.
Girl: He called up Freddie?
Me: Yes.
Girl: But what if Freddie wasn't home? What if he was out shopping?
Other Girl: What if Freddie's mom picked up?
First Girl: Did she know about the band?

Me: Freddie was actually born in Africa.
Second Girl: African-American people are from Africa.

Me (oversimplifies Mary/Jim debacle into a treasure chest fairy tale): So, what would you do?
Four year old: I'd give it to the girl.

Girl: So how DID Freddie die?
Me: Uh... he got sick.
Girl: Did the other guys visit him in the hospital?

Me: So when's your birthday?
Girl: November 24th.

Nice but sad story too! But... Life goes on! Freddie, we love you!

XD I love talking to little kids about stuff because they always say random things....when I tutored this year 1 boy a couple of years ago (I was in year 6) I gave him two toy matchbox cars because it was his birthday and he said a few days later that he was in love with the cars I gave him and I started telling him about the song I'm In Love With My Car (Because this was about two months after I found out who Queen were...I actually thought Brian was the gay one you know...) anyways, the kid said that his dad listens to Queen and that he thought the drummer was a 'weally pwetty chick' and he then said that he wanted to get a big hairy spider and call it Brian May....

Ahh they were brilliant! I loved the bugs, microphone stand and hairy legs ones!

My 7 year old cousin is exactly like that. This is what happened the other day when we were watching the IWTBF video

Cousin: How does Freddie know Debbie?
Me: I'm not sure he does
Cousin: Well then how come he's dressed up like her?
Me: Is he?
Cousin: Yeah, she's got a moustache just like that

Ive got my two year old cousing saying all the names of our fav foursome! Her favorite is Brian, whenever she comes to my house she always says 'go see brian' its so cute, so i take her to my room with all my queen pictures and she points brian out then freddie roger and john! Shes so cute, and im sure she'll be with the nest generation of queenites!lol!

all my younger stepsister says to me is :

"you like queen"

and she walks away...


is that random or what?! lol i guess im jealous..
