Throughout my marching band career in high school I've gone to countless football and basketball games. At just about all of them I could hear the audience screaming 'We Will Rock You' and rocking the hell out of the stadium/arena seats. It's simply become a tradition for sports to chant 'We Will Rock You' in a frenzy. I think it's absolutely terrific.
I feel it's safe to say that 'We Will Rock You' is the one Queen song that will never die. I'm sure as hell Brian May is proud of that, even if it's his simplest composition.

We Will Rock you is probably without a doubt the #1 sports song, and its amazing how no one has topped it yet. its stood the test of 30 years...thats not bad.

No one knew who Brian May was.
I don't think "We Will Rock You" is the best he ever wrote - but I don't think you can argue that the song has reached a lot of people (at least, in an animal instincts kind of way) - which is more than you can say for most musicians.
I doubt Freddie thought "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "We are the Champions" were the best things HE ever wrote. But sometimes it's not the supposed quality of the song - but how it touches the masses.[/QUOTE]
Hey now! I'm almost 16 and me and most of the people I know know Freddie for more than that! and most people I know who know who Queen are in a general sort of way don't even know he's dead let alone what he died from so I think thats really biased!
On the other hand I do agree that Brian is remembered for WWRY because I can turn to almost any person and if they don't know who Queen was they will know WWRY, (I can then inform them that Brian wrote it lol)

A lot of people (not particularly Queen fans) think Freddie wrote WWRY
