... Because it's one of the only Queen songs that doesn't have a harmony during the chorus or any what so ever in the song. I just noticed that today.

Wow, I care sooo much. Man, what would I ever do without this totally valuable piece of information in my head today.
Honestly man, does it really matter.
And in the Serious Discussion forum nonetheless.

No harmony?
I don´t want to sound too nasty... but do you know what harmony means?

far out people are pathetic. The man is just saying something he found interestting. And dont be a smart ass he's obviously talking about vocal harmonies.
It's a special song because it's by a special band..

Ah! That would explain the SCREAMING HEADLINE. Perhaps someone should alert the media.

I could be special 'cause it should have named "Spread you Legs" (as freddie announced it at the Dallas'78 show)

No yet, have to wait 'till October, but then I will see them 3 times :-)))) The Shows from the US on Dime sound awesome, allthough I wished they would play more 70's stuff. But, it's Rush!!
Are you going to see them?

it's an inspirational song...freedom is highly valued and a lot of people just want to break free. ;D
It was actually the first Queen single without vocal harmonies. Excellent song. Stripped down, and straight to the point.
I think Spread Your Wings is one of John Deacon's best songs.
The verses are wonderful, with a great melodic line, and very little melodic repetition. The choruses are just mind blowing, great sing-along material, stunning melody.
I even like the lyrics a lot, nice imagery, and a lovely story.
There's no vocal harmonies in the song, but obviously a song doesn't need those to qualify as a good song. The vocal performance by Freddie is very powerful and emotional.
As Sir GH said, a nice stripped down song, to the point. A great pop/rock song.

What an unkind thing to say. Clearly, it matters to the OP, who simply wanted to share something they felt was interesting.
It is a lovely song![QUOTE][QUOTENAME]<b><font color=gold>SMI<font color=1>TTY wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Wow, I care sooo much. Man, what would I ever do without this totally valuable piece of information in my head today.
