I also admire him because he worked hard til the very end and did find joy in the simple things, no matter how the press beat him up about it, he loved life to the very end.

I don't think they stabbed him in the back or anything like that, maybe in an unspoken agreement or even an idea in previous years the other Band members gave permission for all the biographies to be written, and the tv specials to be filmed, all by Freddie's permission. And no of course they wouldn't be out now if he had lived, but now in 2007, he would be living the highest quality of private lives because he probably wouldn't still be performing, he wouldn't be in the spotlight.

i think the reason why the other band memebers havent written anything cus although they were together and knew each other for a long time. they never really spend time with each other outside the queen unit. only time was making an album and touring. i found that out on freddie's book in his own words. as for mercury and me and the peter freestone book. they were wonderful except peter wrote his almost like a term paper for school. and jim was a bit more descriptive and emotional on how he wrote it. i cried in both book. i read mercury and me over ten years ago and peter's book 2 years ago. i have them both and many more about freddie so far those books are my too favorite and the new one so far.

It costs approximately £15,000 a year to keep sufferers like Jim alive! Do you think with his age and condition he would get a job to pay for this?

I'm sorry that my opinion of Jim Hutton (At least the way he came across in the book!) is different from yours. All I can say is that Freddie was well aware of the cost of AIDS treatment and Jim's particular situation, and he still made the decision to leave the bulk of his estate to Mary. He did what he felt was the right thing and its not up to me to question why he did what he did.
Oh, and for the record, I didn't buy the book. It was given to me. I had no idea what the contents would be before I read it. And it just didn't leave me with warm feeling. Just my personal opinion.

i read jims book, it's cute but very subjective, and it hasn't got much information about freddies life as a singer. you get better informations in peter freestones book. and the private things jim offers.. well, i don't know if even queen fans really want to know so much about freddies sex life and his habits on toilet..
