okay...let me start off by saying that this announcement just made 2007 suck even more. the U.S. government is falling apart, Al Gore infects us with Live Earth, and now...this.
First, this is a woman who, as EVERYONE knows, is 'famous for being famous', meaning she has no real claim to fame. She's rich. She's attractive. She's heir to the Hilton hotel business. Whoop-de-fucking-do. If we gave every useless, talentless millionaire an album deal, I guarantee the clearance bin at your local music store would be overflowing.
Second, her first album was a huge stain on the music industry that will never, ever come clean. It's sad to know that it sold about 600,000 copies. "Stars Are Blind" was a lame attempt to do what celebrities should never, ever do...
and let's not get started on her cover of Rod Stewart's disco track "Do You Think I'm Sexy". Atrocious.
And third...well, it's really simple. Why the fuck do we still care about this worthless socialite? She has done absolutely NOTHING to prove that she deserves to even exist in this world. It sickens me to know that some people look up to her as their idol. That's like calling a flaming bag of dog shit a 'work of art', or calling a grocery bag an 'effective contraceptive'.
Please, for the love of God, let no one buy this album. We need to make Paris Hilton know that she has no place in music, in entertainment, and, most importantly, in society.
