This is one for the old timers.
After reading the 'when did you join' topic, I got all nostalgic, and decided to look up some old Queenzone posts via the internet wayback machine.
It's a real shame that there are no proper backups of posts from the 2001-2003 period - I would love to know what my first post on Queenzone was for example. There are also some other posts/topics that I would love to revisit, but unfortunately are lost forever it seems, which is a real shame.
Anyway, enough of that depressing shite...
Here are some links where you can magically access the board as it was in times gone by. Each of these links on the wayback link below brings you to a snapshot of the forum 'start page' at a certain point in time, where you get a list of the boards. Most of these boards can be accessed, and alot of the topics can even be read.
1999-2001:

2001-2006:

And here are some of my personal highlights from being sad enough to trawl through all of the links. Please feel free to post your own!
**Edit: You have to cut and paste these into your internet browser, since the board is not treating the entire link as a URL. But when you cut and paste them it works fine!**
Chuffy (remember her?) wishing me a happy 18th birthday:

I remember this one from years back too. Fatty's "I've done a terrible thing":

A classic Jake Britt post...and I quote:
"and my stupid mother, said "I'm tired of your obsession with Queen, and you are not aloud to go to the QueenZone forum again"...... God, I am PISSED. Then she threatened to tell my Dad everything I've said, including my posts... etc. I REALLY don't think my mother is nice. Considering the things I found in her room and the stuff I found recorded after the flinstones..."
I wonder what WAS taped after the flintsones...read the topic here:

Of course I remember Claire (Chuffy). Taylor-Mayed and Chuffy went to Gosport 2001 and Taylor-Mayed wrote his famous review managing to not mention Chuffy's presence once which made her understandably angry. Martin still hosts the review on queenconcerts.com. TM also made the most horrible bootleg ever which we prouly shared on the QZ server, anyway. Chuffy caused a big laugh when she asked on the notice board why people laughed so much when Jamie Moses sang "Purple vein, purple vein" Chuffy was a chat room regular as was TM.
When you read the bolensdriver thread, you will notice that even then people complained about the decline of the notice board:)

I think 2001-2003 will always be the years in Queenzone I remember most fondly - when I was looking over the old posts, 2003 seemed to be the year it started going downhill.
Still, it can't be that bad, as I'm still here ;-)

Ah, those were the days...
I KNOW! How could I forget what my friends and I saw after the Flinstones?
I saw what was on after the Flintstones too. It was the news and weather followed by an episode of Star Trek.
Of course that was on BBC2 way back in 1987 so it might not be the same as what you're thinking of.
fatty.

I can't get these links to work. What exactly was the terrible thing I did?

Copy and paste the link. It'll be funnier if you read the whole topic (and pay attention to the date of each post) instead of just hearing what you did. ;)

I think I enjoyed those days more than these days. I think I enjoyed the board style more too.
Nowadays I read too much.
