I read this thread with interest and wanted to contribute something meaningful, but I have been reduced to this:

If well written and performed songs are utter gash then sir we are in agreement.
I wasn't suggesting that they were in anyway similar to Queen other than there were elements of their songs that have the same 'feel'. If I can refer you to my original post you will see that I was only commenting that they also use a roadie to trigger some drum effects when playing live especially on songs such as Love It When You Call.
Then in my next post I was asked FOR MY OPINION on The Feeling.

Ah, great thanks. I haven't got round to listening to the commentary yet, so at least I can be satisfied as to the origin of the samples on this gig now!!

on the intro of Let Me Entertain You and Death On Two Legs on Live Killers I guess that is guitar then?
Not sure about LMEY, but it unlikely to be guitar as you can hear the feedback building on the guitar at the same time, but the begining of DOTL is definitely syn drums.

I was pretty sure that all the 'swirly' type sounds on DOTL were, (as with the middle of Get Down Make Love) actually all on the guitar. I think the way Brian's pick up variations work mean that he can kind of get it to produce a sort of 'internal feedback' type thing (I'm sure some guitarists here can give you a more technical explanation!)
