What was your FIRST thought of Queen?

I thought: Brian and Fred both were lead singers :D

I tried guessing who was who, here was my theory:

Roger was John
Brian was Roger
Freddie was Brian
John was Freddie

When I was a child, I used to sing "I want to ride my bicyle" etc. thinking it was just a nursery rhyme. It was only later on I realised it was Queen song.

I used to think Freddie was the one with big curly hair.

I thought it was loud noise, wouldn't even call it music when i first heard Live Magic as a small kid.

I thought:

wow great band, fantastic lead singer.

I once read somewhere that there would be a Queen concert in 2004 or so...and I was like: How's that possible? Queen is dead, right?

I knew Freddie was the lead singer. I saw Bohemian Rhapsody for the first time on VH1. I could tell who was who, obviously, they played the instruments.

Brian played guitar, so I knew he was the guitarest.
Roger was playing drums, so I knew he was the drummer.
John was playing bass, I knew he was the bass player.
Freddie was singing and playing piano, I knew he was the lead singer.

I didn't know anything about them when I watched the video. All I knew was, THIS BAND WAS FUCKING BREATH TAKING. And I liked it.

My dad played Bohemian Rhapsody in the car when I was around 7 years old, and all I could think was that the opera part was the song they used in a 7-Up commercial (it is a drink, for foreigners who may not know what 7-Up is).

When I was a kid in the late '70s/early '80s, Queen was one of few "exciting" bands on TV (the rare occasions they were on). All the other bands' lead singers just stood there behind a mic stand looking bored, while Freddie was all over the place...I hadn't seen something like that before.

It was around 1974 when I first heard a bit of Killer Queen...I kind of blew them off because I really wasn't into that type of music yet. Anyway, right around Christmas 1975 my eldest brother bought a 45 rpm copy of Bohemian Rhapsody and I listened to it over and over again with him in his bedroom. I was fascinated by the harmonies and such but still hadn't gotten into them quite as I should have. By the time they relased You're My Best Friend in the spring of 1976 (from U.S.A. if you couldn't figure that one out) I was totally hooked! The sound, the harmonies, that voice and that guitar was un-believable and with the help of the Midnight Special with Wolfman Jack I became an instant fan! VERY MAGICAL!

Freddie Mercury's voice! Noone will EVER come close to it, and if they do, GOD BLESS THEM......
Freddies voice is the envy in the music business in the days, not nowadays, because it's all BS now.....

Noone will ever compete with Freddies range of his vocals......and Time tells that....even nowadays.....not even close

I knew Another One Bites the Dust and WWRY and Champions, etc etc, but didn't know it was all Queen. My brother had me listen to Bohemian Rhapsody in early 1992 from the whole Wayne's World deal, and I was thinking, "What the hell is this shit?!" I was hooked. My mom bought me Greatest Hits (1992 US edition) and I became hooked. End of story.

I thought Brian was Gay (As I've said many times and won't stop saying it and nobody's gonna stop me now!)
and I thought that Rog was kinda sexy and that Deaky was scary and that Fred was a horse in disguise...
