Another concert intro

After spending all kinds of time trying to come up with an "inventive" intro, something really high-energy and catchy that could lead into a warhorse (TYMD or WWRY fast), I came up with this little ditty. I made it out of 320 kpbs MP3s (and a .wav sound effect), so I left it as a 320 kbps MP3. No sense making you download a huge, lossy file.

No crowd noise was added, as I prefer the cleaner sound of studio recordings (even though I used a live song...I'll explain later in the post). Components of this intro are:

"Flash": film version taken from the soundtrack album, not the single. Ripped from CD as a 320kbps MP3 a couple of years ago, and my CDs are now packed and ready to move to California, so I didn't bother to dig them up for a lossless version.

"Jailhouse Rock (semi-studio mix)": Taken from the Golders Green 1973 rock 'n roll medley, with the medley part cut out, leaving only 2:26 of Jailhouse Rock intact. All background crowd noise was removed. Again, the CD I have my Golders Green FLACs backed up on is packed, so no dice there.

"Teo Torriatte": The looping outro is used after Flash, leading into Jailhouse Rock.

At 1:10 or so, you'll probably jump out of your seat due to a thunderbolt. That's courtesy of God (and freesound.org).

As I envision it, Flash, the thunderbolt, and Teo Torriatte are played from tape. Jailhouse Rock is played live, and it leads into TYMD, WWRY fast, or whatever other rocker you think would sound best afterwards. Personally, I have it going into TYMD on my Queen playlist. Enjoy, and let me know what you think! I love splicing Queen songs into medleys, and while I avoid uploading most of them due to copyright concerns, I feel this one is altered enough to be kosher for a posting here.

*EDIT: New version up. I thought the transition from Teo Torriatte to Jailhouse Rock was a bit harsh, so I cleaned it up with a slight crossfade. Sounds better now, I think.

Well, as a few songs spliced together, which, let's be honest, is really all this is, technically it's OK, but I wouldn't really call it a 'mix', as such. Sorry, I don't mean to sound unkind, and it was nice to listen to once, but that's about it. Thanks for sharing it with us though. :)

You know what'd be really cool?

Getting the tape they used for their Flash intros, with all the howlaround noises, sans audience.

Actually maybe I should go check my Queen on Fire DVD surround channels...

Oh wow, yes, I hadn't thought of that. Surely it would be too much to hope that the audience are isolated to the rear channels?

Sorry Thunderbolt, but I agree with what Lord F said. Nice to listen to once but that is about it for me too.

Thanks anyway
