The only thing I'm really hoping QP has is November 11, 1977 in Portland. I believe this was the only confirmed performance of Sleeping On The Sidewalk, and I'd love to hear it :)
edit - I lie. it's not the only thing. I really want a good quality "Life Is Real", and from the last QPR tour, "Las Parablas De Amor". Does that cap off all the Hot Space live tracks? I seem to recall Hot Space is the most represented album live. It certainly produced some of the most intetersting live renditions.

Indeed.
And apart from the Sleeping on the sidewalk track being played that night, a great sounding US NOTW audience recording is just something we need but that is not available at the moment.
Houston is a great soundboard but the fact they didn't play It's late and spread your wings is a crime!
My dream is hearing the LA 22/12/1977 recording. Apparently an audience recording exists so this is also a request to the people who have the possibility to share it. It'll make some people really happy! The setlist that night is unbelievable.
I'm also often dreaming about a great Crazy tour recording.:-) (I know hammy is great but something else would be nice too)
And the thing is: I'm sure Greg has had a chance to listen to those.

A set like the Bowie Glass Spider set would be nice - the filmed show on DVD (Houston), and another night as audio only (LA).
If we could have Sleeping on the Sidewalk from Portland playing over the photogallery like the On Fire At The Bowl disc, then it would be perfect :)

In 1999 and 2000 I start collecting official "the Who" catalogue. Ten years ago I bought remastered and expanded versions of their legendary albums: Who's next, Tommy, Live at Leeds, Sell out, Quadrophenia, and many others! All albums had interesting liner notes, great sound and bonus tracks. I wrilly did enjoyed those albums and they very prety cheap compering to the other classic rock acts. Yesterday I was browseing on amazon.com to see is there something new in the official the Who catalogue, and what have I found: All this great albums that I bougt 10 years ago are now released for the second time as a re-remastered deluxe editions as a 2CD set with even more improved sound, even more informative booklet and you get a double more music to enjoy!
Is there anything like that going to happened with queen official catalogue!?? Is someone from queen production is reading this? Are you care for your loyal fans at all, like the one I'am? I'm a queen fan since summer 1991 and been listening all sorts of music, but queen are the only band they i care these days and that like so much after all that time and that grew on me.... i'm sorry to say that but I won't buy another greatest hits and Live in kharkow. I'll rather spend my money (for the second time) for the legendary "Live At Leeds" where you get a Tommy opera live as a second disc, and I'l rather buy "Who's Next" (for the second time) where you get another live album previously unreleased as a second disc!
I'm not a hard core fan of the Doors but they've also released their catalogue as a improved editions for the second time. I' ve allways liked Jim Morrison beautiful voice. And I'm seriously thinking of buying all their catalogue as this editions are great and interesting.

I've realized that the topic of whether or not another copy of the acetate version of Hangman exists veered off somewhere else. But i also pondered upon something else! In all the live versions we hear, it always seems to obtain alternate lyrics, and often Freddie seems to be improvising, since it is abit of a bluesy number.
We hear in the 1973 recordings more improvised lyrics, perhaps not yet finished. So when it was recorded i'm guessing around 1972-1973 for the first album sessions. Or maybe in 1971 when they recorded their de lane demo's.
There is known instance when it was played in 1974.
We only know one in 1975 live at the Nippon Budokan, Japan at the end of the Sheer Heart attack tour. Most Queen sites will post the lyrics from this fantastic concert as what Hangman supposedly sounds like.
In 1976 we know two occurences of this song being played. In boston, and in Japan.
I've only heard the Japan version so far, and from what i can sound out:

But all the verses alternate, and i just wonder maybe, just maybe the reason Queen didn't release this on any album, is because Brian or the pristine Freddie were stingy on Hangman, due to all of it's changes. I wonder if we would of ever heard Keep yourself alive, with Brian never being happy with the outcome of it. Liar stretched out 4 mins beyond it's original length. Could there be a chance that Liar remained a live song.
I think Queen saw Hangman as a special little ditty they could improvise live. It just doesn't fit on any of their albums.

The recording you have, are the lyrics understandable? Are they similar to any of these live recordings? I think this one last piece of information about this song, would be much appreciate by not just me i'm sure, but by all of us Queen fans. Could possibly in your spare time, write out the lyrics to Hangman, just so we have a mind frame of this song? I like the fact that we might never hear it, because it makes being a Queen fan all the more exciting. I remember Freddie once saying " I don't like to ruin peoples fantasys, their images of a song" Or something like that, i was paraphrasing, and i think it had something to do with their music videos. Basically it's referring to the same idea, that i don't necessarily need to hear this studio version, because then it would destroy my image of this song. What would we Queen fans dream about at night[yes i dream of Hangman at night}? Not a Barry Gibb version of "Play the game" :]

None of this info is hugely significant I'm afraid (there are no big shocks or revelations) because alas there is nothing profound in the archive… as you will probably have anticipated from knowing the content of all the products out there… Rare Live, Magic Years, Milton Keynes and Wembley DVD bonus material, etc, etc.
Bear in mind before you look at this that, yes, there are some oddments on cassettes too, from other shows – such as from 74, 77, 78, 81, 82, 84, 86, but those shows are not listed here coz there is no point in doing that. I’m talking here only about PROPER formats, not amateur stuff – poor recording we all have copies of, and have had for years. That’s why Golders Green isn’t on here, for example… because we do not have that show on a serious format - only bits of it, like you have, on cassette. We don't even have an LP, or CD or DAT. The same is true of gigs from 1978 and several other things you will probably have expected to make the list.

We also have various pieces of various shows from Europe 79 (obviously, because they were used for Live Killers) which are the ONLY things I can’t go into detail with here, because at this moment we do not know exactly what we have and what precisely is on all tapes – until we get to transfer them and work with them, which we will do sooner than later, I think.
Only when we play every tape all the way through will we know exact details. I will then discover precisely which segments were used for the Killers LP, and I’m looking forward to confirming all that stuff. It looks like we might have 13 shows represented but this does NOT mean they are entire shows, neither does it mean that what does exist will be great quality which will ALL be usable at some point. That presumption would be naive.
Most of what was discarded for Live Killers was probably left for good reasons – not least technical ones. I don’t know, none of us do, but we will soon. At the moment LK details are rather vague because we have never had reason to go into them in great detail like we did with the Freddie tapes for the 2000 ‘Solo’ box, for example. I’m talking about audio recordings only here, not footage. You guys already know what footage from this LK period exists and we do not even have all that you have seen – such as Japan 79.
