What about Lynrd Skynrd with Free Bird?

Just because it's long doesn't mean it's good. In my opinion, that solo gets boring after the first 8 bars. Sure, it's fast and all that, but it's not structured well at all. There is no build, climax, and fall-off. It's just random wanking that goes on for far too long.

Not only is that one of the worst pieces of guitar work laid down onto tape, it's one of the worst songs I've ever heard. I'm happy seeing Muse with a "relative" new song like Knights of Cydonia.
About "While y guitar gently weeps", I have the "Concert for George" and Eric made a great job with the solo, he worked a bit more, well... he's the creator of the solo. I loved it!!!!

I love it, not for its lenght, but because of the way it sounds... It's so happy and random. I dunno really how to explain, but it basically gets me dancing happily. ;P

"Local Hero - Wild Theme" by Mark Knopfler should've been in there.
I actually think Brian's best solo is 'You Don't Fool Me', because as a solo it's interesting and has that brillaint buid up in the way that some of Mark Knopfler's stuff does.
I think that list is missing out a hell of a lot, although i do agree with Comfortably Numb being first, i just remember how great it sounded at Live 8...
The final solo in Dragonforce - Valley of the Damned, to me, would probably be second. Dragonforce probably have too many guitar solo's in each of their songs but that one is just perfect.
I guess this list is probably aimed at people who don't like heavier guitar music but still i don't see why they missed out on some key artists....
Anybody else thinking that the Invisible Man solo should be in there as well? lol
