Aww his first gig!! :D
Thanks everybody!
It was just a song, not a bunch. ;) Second to last band to perform in the festival. I was so nervous that I just stood near the amp, hardly moving.
After the performance, my friends went backstage to shake hands with me and say it was good.
I don't know if they were being kind to me or if they were actually being honest, but I won't think about that for now, and I'm still a bit afraid of watching the video. I only know that I didn't fuck the whole thing up.
I was EXTREMELY tense immediatly before I entered the stage. To make it worse, I noticed my guitar was out of tune, and as it was getting retuned, the other guitarist realised he had the same problem. As it happened, the lead singer was pestering us to help her with the lyrics because she had forgotten part of it. XD
On stage I didn't have the guts to even look at the audience. I just entered the stage, went near the amps, then someone adjusted it, (I don't remember if it was my guitar teacher or someone else from the crew), then I just stayed near the amp, with the lead singer covering me most of the time (in the pics, you basically see her, with my legs and guitar showing behind LOL).
After the gig, we ran upstairs and talked a bit. We felt a lot more comfortable, and we all agreed we wanted to go back on stage and play more. But we couldn't, obviously. Then a few people came to talk to us, including a few of my friends to congratulate me. When I entered the stage, I thought I had heard my name, and when I saw my friends, they explained what happened. 2 or 3 of them felt like screaming it, and they just did it. :-P
Maybe I had a wrong impression because of my nervousness, I dunno, but after I left the stage I was quite sure my teacher didn't know what he was talking about when he said I'd be the lead guitarist. I was just the only guy on stage using distortion, but the song had no solos, and from what I heard on stage, my guitar mixed well with the acoustic guitars and the clean electric guitar, it was a lot more rhythm guitar than lead, I think. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyway, I played a song by a brazilian rock singer called Cazuza, it was chosen by my teacher. For next year (yeah, I know, there's still a whole year ahead of me, but now that I've already played once, I can't imagine myself being nervous anymore, I just wanna be on stage all the time! XD), I wanna play something either by Queen or by Guns'n'Roses. G'n'R aren't even among my favorite bands, but several people have mentioned that my guitar and hair make me a bit like him and if I grow my hair and put on a top hat, nobody would recognize me... I kinda liked the idea. ;)
Well, sorry for the long post, I'm just overexcited. Soon I'll put the video on YouTube. After I finally watch it. ;P
Thanks everybody!!! :)

Now that we know that it was his first gig, then we'll know this is the first step towards getting laid.
I can already picture Jessica booking flights to Brazil to keep her man on the leash.
CONGRATULATIONS RAF!!

First performances in front of people are always nerve-wracking experiences. But now that you've gotten your feet wet as it were, they will get easier from here on out. Soon, you'll be addicted to the thrill (and let's face it, there are worse things to be addicted to).
Congratulations!
Congratulations!
