What the band should do is go back, delete all of their compilations, and release a three-disc collection of Queen-only hits, in a roughly chronological order. No remixes, no solo hits, no collaborations, and release it as quietly as possible. Once that's over, never release another compilation again.
I came up with my own collection of hits to replace the others, and I think they work quite well:

Yeah that's not bad...only curious thing is "Jealousy"...I think I'd replace that with "Stone Cold Crazy". And it should have "'39" and "Get Down, Make Love" since those got a lot of airplay.

'Jealousy' was released as a US-only single in April 1979, which is why it was included. All of the inclusions on the Greatest Hits packages were singles in either the US or UK (yeah, I know 'One Year Of Love' was released only in Europe...).

About as much point as adding solo hits, remixes, and non-singles ('The Show Must Go On' with Elton John? Please.) to a Queen Greatest Hits collection.

But, if we're going to go by that rule, why wasn't at least 'Body Language', 'Scandal', and 'A Winter's Tale' released on GH3? Why was 'Princes Of The Universe', which was a US- and Japan-only single, and failed to chart at all in those countries? Why was 'We Will Rock You' issued on UK releases of GH1? (Remember, it wasn't a UK single in 1977, just a B-side.) 'Flick Of The Wrist' had more right to be on GH1 than 'We Will Rock You'. Because solo hits were on GH3, why weren't solo hits on GH2? Freddie had a handful of Top 30 hits between 1984 and 1987.
Face it, GH3 is fundamentally flawed. There's no right for solo hits to be on a Queen compilation. Freddie had several compilations of solo hits that did relatively well, and if there's a market for compilations of Bill Wyman and Ringo Starr, then surely there's a market for compilations of Brian and Roger. I get the impression that GH3 was rushed together because QPL needed an easy product to put out; it may have worked, but it's a major blight on compilations that were first class all the way.
Apologies if I seem to have gotten defensive... I know it comes off that way, but as you can see GH3 really irritates me ;)
