A young football star, who vanished today :(.
For those who don't know about it, he played for the Sevilla team here in Spain. On Saturday he had a stroke during a game, the weird fact is that he came out walking from the field to the dressing room on this one. Then he had another stroke, but this time he didn't react at all.
He was going to be a father in 1 1/2 months.

I saw the news on Sunday about the stroke.

according to sky sports news here in the UK he died of a heart attack not a stroke,either way its a young age to die.i doubt if drugs or steroids are involved,aparantly he had been having fainting fits over the last year.
on another note...
a nottingham forest player collapsed in the dressing room at half time during their match against leicester tonight and is in a serious condition in hospital.the game was abandoned due to it.

You're right about the heart attack, he had it on the dressing room, after that he was reanimated. While they were taking him to the hospital, he had the strokes (between 4 or 5). He died 'cuz of brain damage.

thats terrible :( so sad to hear about a young death.
i was wrong with the nottingham forest player.it was a leicester player that collapsed in the dressing room.either way he is in a stable but serious condition in hospital and the game between the two teams was abandoned
The same thing happened to a hockey player last two years ago for the Detroit Red Wings....he was 21 years old at the time, and had a heart attack on the bench right in the middle of the game. Luckily they had an automatic defibrillator machine on the bench with the doctor and they were able to revive him inside of one minute and he suffered no permanent damage. They found out later he had a heart defect (from birth) that caused the problem, and I don't think they let him play again. That was probably the cause in both of these cases...congenital heart defects. They can't always be detected, unfortunately, until it's too late.

Very sad... it happens too often lately. We all remember seeing Feher dieing in front of the camera’s. Marc-Vivien (player of the national team of Cameroon) died in the same way. And last year, David di Tommaso (FC Utrecht) died in the night after a match, also because of heart failure.
Talking about drugs and dope... I've seen a documentary in which they tried to prove that there is a link between the use of some medicines and heart failures. The prove was quite overwhelming. Still footy players use the drug.

im cynical at the best of times but im sure the bloke who "invented" jogging died of a heart attack while doing it which put me off for life.i shall carry on with my little walks down into the village for my newspapers and food and walk home via institute hill and keep fit[ish] that way.
