Does Brian really need to self promote the Montreal DVD in his birthday message for Freddie?

Lest Roger or John die before he does, I can imagine Bri inscribing "don't forget to buy our next release" on the epitaph.

At least he didn't put the WWRY musical logo on Freddie's jeans on the pic...

It's like his letters to press in which he never forgets to mention "our great We Will Rock You musical".

Brian is nowadays a better manager than a musician. Sadly.

I think he's just very very enthusiastic about this release.

Or, you know, that '39, Prophet's song and Long Away should have beeen hit singles, because they were really as good as Bohemian Rhapsody or Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy or Somebody to love. Doh! There is a fine line between healthy competition and bitterness and envy. Oh well, he's an old bast*** all right, but we love him, don't we ?

Actually ,Brian said that even if The Prophet's Song is a great song it would NEVER have been a hit single. And I think was 100% right about that.

Sure, OK.

But there is no denying that Brian has been trying to "push" his legacy for a few years. It

shows in what he has to say about his own songs, it shows in the setlists of QPR, it shows in

what they played at the Hall of Fame induction etc. IMHO Freddie was by far the best songwriter

and the most impressive creative force in the band, if only in the 70's. That doesn't mean I

don't think Brian has an amazing talent, I think he has, I just feel uncomfortable with the

mild history rewriting vibe, which involves ego but also royalties ! But then again, it's

human, he's taking advantage of the fact that he's alive and that he's got a blog to express

his views, fair enough. However, when he goes on and on about WWRY the musical and can't remember on which album My Fairy King was, i find it disturbing.

Changing subjects : the sound clips of Face it Alone and Sandbox posted on youtube by a nice man named David Fuller, are they legit ? If so, Face it alone sounds nice.

Don't agree with you on that...Roger is worse.
If you listen to his dvd commentaries...he's NEVER satisfied with ANYTHING. xD

Brian talks about his songs more because he knows them best.

I'm sure Paul Rodgers had as much input into the songs he would sing as Brian - if not more. Remember the comment about not wanting to perform IGSM because he didn't think the song would come accross well without Freddie.

One final thought: Brian and Roger have moved on, why can't everyone else?

He'd fit in comfortably here on QueenZone, where no nit is too small to pick, no passing remark unworthy of taking offense to.

Freddie does look great in that picture.
