I'd say it's loosely coupled, which works since both source songs are fairly loose themselves.

actually i think this does work. its surprising how many timings and progressions they have in common - it didn't take much manipulation in nudging them together. btw adam, did you ever finish that 'don't stop me now' cover that you annouced a while back? in fact, have you ever released any mixes on this forum?

Yes, I did finish the DSMN cover...kind of. Still needs a couple of guitar overdub parts near the end and also vocal harmony bits. I'll do them sometime near the end of the month.
