Has anyone ever noticed that Champagne Supernova by Oasis is similar to Octopus' Garden by The Beatles. Especially the lyrics
I long to be under the sea in a octopus' garden in the shade
Someday you will find me caught beneath the landslide in a champagne supernova in the sky
I'm just a musical prostitute my dear! FREDDIE MERCURY 1984
They are both really rather bad.
The fact that Oasis are a bunch of Beatle rip-offs is old news.

Whatever uses a similar chord progression to Octopus' Garden, which led to Noel singing the lyrics over the chords live.

Many people just dimiss Oasis as Beatles rip-offs, but their completely different. Yes, they did take elements of the Beatles and dropped many a Beatles reference in, but thats not the only band they borrowed off. For example -

Cigarettes & Alcohol = Get It On (T-Rex)?
Shakermaker = I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing?

I like Oasis (the first two or three albums and b-sides especially). Just don't like the "fans".
"Freddie would have loved it" - Brian May

You can also add these

Stand By Me = All The Young Dudes (Mott The Hoople)
Dont Look Back In Anger = Imagine (John Lennon)

Maybe they wear their influences on their sleeves eh? Either that or they have a severe lack of talent... either way I dont care
"Normally i can't dance to save my life. But as soon as I step in dog shit, I can moonwalk better than Michael Jackson."
Mmm, I wish they'd punched more people back in the heroin days. I really do.

Man, the things I'm gonna do in Manchester.

I found it funny that Noel made mention of that Greenday song sounding like Wonderwall.

Naff, fuckin' naff.
