How is that a dive?

The player was clearly swept by the goalie.
Fair enough; I've watched it again (more than once), slowed it down and I agree it was a foul.

However, I still believe the goal scored in the Ajax-AZ game (the 2nd clip) was a legitimate goal.

Look at this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKuLtLXl7FI

I bet he would call this a well deserved penalty.

The sport is slowly growing on this side of the Atlantic. Canada just hosted the U-20 World Cup, and it was a reasonable success.

Give it another 10 years.

Although if we have the one that was on the Holland-Portugal game of last year's world cup... we have two xD
That was Ivanov (the one Rick mentioned)... about the AZ - Ajax goal... that was a foul! You're not allowed take make a tackle like that. Whether the keeper had the ball or not is not important in this case. And about the Hungarian player.. this referee should be banned also, like Ivanov! He wins the match for Turkey with that decision. It's a clear penalty! Otherwise it becomes 1-0 for Hungaria with 11 against 11.
I got to try al little more, because I'm an asshole but I'm learning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfTLkUcQ7QY

Maybe in Canada...you guys are far closer to Europe than the US is. I think most of our hope for bringing up popularity in the US, as sad as this is, rested on Beckham, who is now out for the rest of the season it looks like. If you guys say give it 10 years in Canada, I'd say give it at least 30 in the US.
I'm still waiting for someone to explain it to me. I went to a game last week and all Marko (the German student) could tell me was the difference between a yellow and a red card and shakes his head and tell me that what we were watching wasn't really soccer.

Oh, YOU'RE the one!!!
The MLS is like a beer league compared to other leagues. Just not enough action for Americans to get into it, the Toronto MLS team has gone 9 games with a goal. That's entertainment. It's weird though that Americans can't dig soccer for the lack of action, but they'll watch 11 large men who weigh up to 400 pounds stand in a circle for 51 minutes of a 60 minute game and love it.
You know, good times are now.
