What happened to this? It is supposedly 'upmixed' from the original mix, but why exactly wasn't a proper 5.1 mix made? Seen the Karaoke Hits CD and DVD feature a different mix we can assume the mastertapes exist.

At the time the multitrack was missing, I think it did get found though after the release.
thnx!
No, it wasn't found NTL. A good few tracks from the NOTW sessions are gone because the master tape(s) were stolen. If you look through the newspaper articles from 2003 on this site, you'll come across a plea from Brian for information on their whereabouts, etc.
The article also mentions that he wanted them back to create a dvd. I can only assume they mean the same kind of release as the previous dvd-a's in 5.1. Yes, it would be nice to see Brian get back the material.

I think NOTW will not be released in DTS/5.1 for in a a near future.
ADATR or QUEEN II are discussed to be the the next ones.

Though I've heard Brian is really keen on releasing Queen II as DVDA, I bet it's going to be The Races as from a sales point of view it will complement the Opera DVDA.
and naturally, whatever gets the dvd-a treatment next will have a greater proportion of "Brian" compositions on it than Queen II

I may be completely wrong here, but I thought I read that they found them, as they did with GSTQ from ANATO.

I definitely know they -found- GSTQ because that was on the 2005 remaster/dvd-a. But you'll have to dig out the article about the other tracks cause I never read it. I would be very interested to read it.

Maybe but GSTQ was on the same mastertape as Procession, so from a couple of years before it's release. So that doesn't indicate anything about the tapes from SYW unfortunatly
