Gorilla = Elton John?!?

Hiho,

I just read somewhere that in the video for I'm Going Slightly Mad it's actually Elton John(!) in the Gorilla-suit!!?
Wouldn't surprise me at all.. :)

Can anybody shed some light on this please?

Highly doubtful really.

There'd be pictures of Elton John at the video shoot (unless you believe he arrived in a gorilla suit, stayed the whole time in the gorilla suit and left in it).

It was going to be Elton John, but then David Bowie knocked him out in the dressing room and tied him up in the closet so that he could don the suit and ape it up so to speak.

Anyway, whether it's true or not - I was just wondering if this might be one of those little anecdotes i have missed somehow..

OK - how about contacting the paper and asking what THEIR source was?

Is the means by which one investigates something so inpenetrable these days? If I read something contentious and I want to know more, I start at the place I read it, not wikipedia....
