All the lyrics sites I've looked at say it's "The wonders of this world go on"

well my penny's worth the printed lyrics on the miracle on the album say "the wonders of this world go on" will check the vid cos if my memory serves me right the four heads move from left to right starting with freddie

well im glad i checked it actually starts with john then freddie rog & bri & its deffo ("the" etc...( if you watch the video its clear god this is sad though haha

Actually, they say "start smoking marihuana" in a muffled voice. It was a huge scandal at the time.

I always say - remove those damned articles from your language, we don't have them in Russian and things are so easy and people are so happy over here...

Correct. And the "the" is not only very quiet, but also quickly said and blended with "wonders" as if the two words are one.
