THE GREATNESS OF SHANE thread

Truly Alan Ladd's best movie and probably the best western ever. How many times have we been ripped off by the Shane Western? Well, last time it was Unforgiven. In fact, Clint appears to borrow from Jack Schaefer's masterpiece quite often. I thought Pale Rider was pretty much the same movie with different character names.

And who could argue this being Jack Palance's first and best performance ever. He may have only had a few lines, but WOW!

Very few westerns give us memorable character (ex: Val Kilmer's Doc Holiday), but Shane gave us at least two. But when you go back and watch it time and time again, you see the other stars begin to shine as much as the main stars. What a cast!
