the WORLD series? 90% of the world don't like it or have a league but you people call it WORLD if it makes you feel more superior.
pity me...I'm a Cubs fan...

100 years since their last championship…ugh

Wow, the echo in here is brutal.

Look Gem27, I am a baseball fan. I've already given Musicalfreddiemercury a ticket for spouting false Yankee propaganda, so now it's your turn.

90% don't like it? OK, well OVER 90% can't play baseball at that level... but the one's that can would rather play in a Brazillian league, right? No. The BIG LEAGUES are in North America, sorry dude. I didn't create the league. But that's where the top ballplayers play.

I'm sure your skills are good, but I doubt good enough, so you stick to whatever league you're watching and we'll watch our WORLD SERIES.

Oh, and by the way, I call it that BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF PEOPLE CALL IT!!! I guess I'm a follower, not a leader.

For starters, its MAGICAL, but that's okay, "musical" makes sense, so I'll let it slide.

Second, for the record, what I was "spouting" was not in any way false. All the Yankee fans in my home are cheering for the BoSox - granted there are only two of us, but that's not the point. Maybe realizing not all Yankee fans are fanatics has unsettled your world, but hey, thems the breaks.

Microwave, well said and fair play man! I was just in a wind up mood and I apologize.
Baseball is only remotely interesting when the players and/or the ball are on fire.

Well on that logic, why is America in the Rugby World Cup? You couldn't even manage to beat Samoa or Tonga. Hell, even we played better than you, and let's face it, we've never played so crap!

On a slightly different note, I do like how they pick the winners of the 'World Series', it makes more sense because then you find out who is truly the superior team instead of who was best on the night. Or day. When ever they play the finals.

Geez man, for once act like a grown up and not like a disgruntled fanboy picking beef with anyone who disagrees?

Look, I hate the Yankee fans, but I do hold a lot of respect for Yankee fans who admit that their team isn't what it used to be, and it needs some big changes to win another World Series. When I say that I hate Yankee fans, I'm referring to the hardcore Yankee fans who are too arrogant to admit that their team is full of overpaid stars with no team commitment. I once was a Yankee fan but I got fed up with the sore loser attitude of their hardcore fans when they lost to the underdog team The Diamondbacks back in 2001.

So if MagicalFreddieMercury wants to root for the Red Sox, good for him. Wish there were more fans like that.

Thanks, Jingles.

And for what it's worth, I'm completely with you about the hardcore fans. The diamondbacks killed them in '01, and while I was bummed about it, I wasn't completely surprised. More than anything, the Yankees needed quality pitching back then. Now they need a whole lot more. What better way to get them to see it than for them to lose to the BoSox? Again. I'm not a fair-weather fan, but neither am I blind.

Jingles, c'mon man, if you don't know that I'm not one of those "right on", "you got that right" kinda answer guys. If I'm picking beef, it's justified.

Tell me some Yankee fans who admit that. Joe Torre managed them 12 years and they made the playoffs 12 times. You can't win every year. The Yankees are just fine and are starting to buildup their minor leagues again.

The entire state has pretty much given the finger to Gulianni. But when MFM makes the same statement, he's a true fan. Puhlease!! Sorry, but I don't believe in bandwagon jumping.
[QUOTENAME]magicalfreddiemercury wrote: [/QUOTENAME]All the Yankee fans in my home are cheering for the BoSox
Then they aren't Yankee fans. Just as no BoSox fan would cheer for the Yankees.
See Babe Ruth.
And don't blame me, I didn't start that feud. That's like an Aggie cheering for a Longhorn. A Cowboy cheering for a Redskin... etc.

That would probably be news to most Americans, given that Rugby is hardly on the same level as Baseball, Football, Basketball, or Hockey for that matter.

Get someone to market that sport better, and I'd be in. Unfortunately, no broadcast games means no viewers.

New Yorkers have been giving Giuliani the finger for years - save for a few weeks back in 2001. He's just given us one more thing to flip him for.

Wrong.

My Met fan friends, literally, won't be seen in the same room with me if I'm wearing a Yankee jacket, shirt, whatever. We can't talk sports because if Mets vs. Yankees comes up somehow, things get messy. The hostility is scary. And pathetic.

There are some Yankee fans who have the same reaction to Met fans - and yes, Bosox fans.

I have more important things to do than get hot over the honor of a multi-million dollar team. Would I go to a Yankee game? In a flash. Would I pay to see the Mets or BoSox? No way. But if the Yankees aren't in it, then I'm either rooting for New York or for the American League.

Period.

Well, then just don't start wearing the hat. And for Gods sake no matching T Shirt. That breaks another rule not worth going into.

Heated debates about Sports are expected. Hope you didn't take offense but ended up enjoying our little debate.

But the more important thing is How the heck are the Rockies supposed to climb back into this thing? and did we see Curt Schilling's last game?
Red Sox all the way.....nice to have two successful teams (at last) in New England...

yeah, and now you got Kevin Garnett! Just keep the Bruins outta the Stanley Cup and I'm alright with that.
