I know for a fact that Chris wasn't the one who posted the auction, it was the distributor. I know this because the distributor lives in Spring, Texas. And the auction was based in Spring, Texas. Spring is a suburb of Houston, Texas, which is where I live.

Legal issues are very complicated. I know Brian didn't have a patent on his RS or on The Deacy for quite awhile. I hope that's changed. Lastly, Chris' guitars and amps aren't exact replicas of the Deacy or the RS, they're close, but not exact. Like RS guitars and the new RS Classics, they are being sold as an alternative to what BHM is producing.
My RS replica was custom built by a Houstonian luthier ten years ago. I wasn't able to find a Guild at the time, and this was pre-Burns/BHM. I hope Brian doesn't come after me and the luthier that built my guitar.

They're people cashing on Gibson's (and Les Paul's) work.
If you think Gibson guitars are too expensive, you can check out the cheaper versions made by Epiphone, which are authorized by Gibson.
Gibson has legally stopped a company (maybe more, I'm not sure, but I read about one specific company) from selling LP replicas in the United States.
If this guy wants to make profit from guitars and guitar gear, why doesn't he design his own?
If he thinks Brian May guitars are more entertaining, he could make them for personal use. Several guitarists have homemade Red Special replicas.
But if he wants to make profit from BM guitars, he should try to get a job in an authorized company...

The cost of both the amp and the guitar is not that expensive as other copies out in the market. The KZ Pro was selling for nearly $8000, and Chris is selling these at a fraction of the price. Same goes for RS Guitars and RS Classic Guitars. Chris, Steve from RS, and Everett from RS Classics build these guitars and they make little to no profit from them.

I got some guitar bits as well Adam. I bought the more authentic looking V & T knobs for my Burns RS. They are FAR better looking that what came standard on my Burns. Easier to to turn as well. He also through in the guitar strap buttons for free. That was totally unexpected. I didn't use them because I replaced the original buttons with strap locks. I ain't messing around w/ that. I also recently pruchased the TB they offer as well. I spoke to the designer of those directly & he is a great guy. The pedal is awesome! I hope this all works out for the best for everyone involved.

Chris and Greg Covington are great guys. Covington's TB is one of the best out on the market. The only compitition they have is from electrolead and Pete Cornish. Greg Fryer's TBs are okay, but they're missing that extra something.
