How did the '1984' Brian May recordings leak out?

Does anybody know how the 1984 Thames TV Studio recordings surface?

I think someone got the tape from Dave Dilloway, the bassist (?) in 1984?

As far as I know, it was about 12 years ago that the tape was first given away.

Sorry not thinking this morning 1984!! I was condfused for a second and thoughtyou meant the year rather than the band!
