OK, I'm being really dense today but I don't get the Phil Collins joke Roger mentions on QRM commentary.
Anyone care to shed light on this for me?

To be honest, neither did I get it either.
I remember Roger saying something like that. I'm not sure, but I believe Roger was simply implying that Freddie's outfit was Phil Collinish. It was more of a remark than a joke.
No trust me it was a joke, Phil Collins NEVER wore a base ball cap, and little white shorts with no shirt...
This is joke between famous singing drummers. You have to be one of that special kind of humans to get the joke actually.
It's funny you should say that...because I am.... well maybe not that famous, but nevertheless I sing and drum, so surely I should have been the one to get that!!!
