My brother did that to me. xD
He opens my laptop's itunes and sits there, plays a split second of the song and pauses it. Then I name it, and... er... he makes fun of me for it. :PP

Depends on the song. Some I know right off, some, perhaps not.
No.
But I was a perfect 24 of 24 with two notes in a contest back in 2000.

I can do it with more than just Queen....
I could identify track 12 on Made in Heaven
there's this german tv show called "wetten dass" (meaning something like "I bet...") so I put up this bet that I could identify any queen song from any regular studio album from any randon HALF SECOND.
and additionally to make it harder and better for me, I added that I would tell the album name, the track number AND who wrote it AND do it all quicker than the 3 remaining queen members together.
I thought that would be a nice way to get to meet them... ;)
so the show answered me that they were not interested because they've had somebody on the show that did recognize any random pop song of that year by a tenth of a second.
my bad.

Yep - no problem. Had a contest once too - three consecutive words from lyrics of any Queen song and I could name the song, the album it came off of and the year that album was released. I don't know if the people observing though 'cool, that guy knows his Queen' or 'man, that guys a friggin geek.' Anyway, I got about 50 songs right before I lost it.
I can do that with pretty much any of the 500 songs on my iPod. My friends think it's creepy. xD
