The funniest thing about that was I had to ring up Sky News to speak to somebody who had asked me to ring them and when the person answered I was like "Hello, it's Freya Valentine is blah blah blah there please?" And the person was like "Yes, sure, what what are you calling about?" then there was a pause and I just said "...carrots." They got confused and told her Karen was on the phone (!)

i had a similar thing happen when i spoke to the local radio down here a few years ago,they asked me why i wanted to speak to the producer of the show and i said "pilchards" and the person on the other end of the phone said to her mate "theres a mr Phil Chard on the phone for you" and all through the interview he kept calling me "Phil".i swear some of these media types have got A-levels from McDonalds!

I've heard that English is the hardest language to learn because of the grammar. If I knew anything about it, I'd offer to help you out. But I'm not very good for that kind of thing. Granted I speak the language, but all I can tell you is that a sentence either sounds right or it doesn't sound right to me; when pressed for details I can't tell you why. Grammar is not my strong point. I just speak and write in a way that makes sense to my ear, which gets me through most of the time.

I've been learning both English and Spanish (the latter one being extremely similar to my own native language, Portuguese), and English's been MUCH easier, since the first lesson.

After the second or third time, I started ignoring the word limits. Luckily my teachers seem to enjoy the fact that I like writing full-page essays. :-P But on exams I don't play with my luck like I do on my homework, and just write something short and simple, in order to avoid violating the word limit and also to decrease my chances of actually making mistakes.

Yeah, when we write grammar exams at the end we need to write a letter with 45-55 words too. But last week we were writing test which included 200 words. Teacher gave us pics of some people and we had task to write in paragraphs about the person on the picture; where we met that person and so on.... I know I had around 340 words!! She gave me an B because it was too long LOL! XD
