This stunning audio recording made at Maida Vale Studios on October 28, 1977 (and broadcast on BBC Radio 1 two weeks later),
has become one of the most bootlegged Queen recordings ever. The idea to capture the band live in a state-of-the-art broadcast recording studio
was indeed a smart one, since Queen’s success came from a combination of high-end, tech-driven guitar wizardry and passionate musical performances.
Recorded right as their popular News of the World album was being released, Queen during this time sounded as if Led Zeppelin had run smack dab into
Ziggy-era David Bowie while he was shopping for mascara in the mall. The Zep influence is most apparent on the opening track, “It's Late,”
whose dreamy center is a direct rip-off of the Zeppelin interlude in the center of “Whole Lotta Love.” Of course, Freddie Mercury’s over-the-top showmanship
was certainly influenced by the thin white duke, but Queen was certainly an amazing band in its own right.
Queen wrote strong, melodramatic rock ’n’ roll songs; just take a listen to “Spread Your Wings.”
The familiar anathematic version of “We Will Rock You” is followed by a fast, full band rock ’n’ roll version.
The band closes with “I Go Crazy,” their hard rock original, not the classic James Brown R&B hit from the early ‘60s.
It’s a story about a guy who is frustrated when his groupie girlfriend runs off with a myriad of rock stars.
You’ve got to hand it to any band that rocks the chorus, “I ain’t gonna see the Rolling Stones no more; I ain’t gonna see Queen, no more.”

Tragically, most people know that Queen’s amazing career essentially came to an end when Freddie Mercury became the first public rock star to die of AIDS.
The band did re-group with guitarist Brian May and ex-Free/Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers as more of a tribute act,
and they have had a successful run as a touring group since 2004.

Strange enhough it also includes "I Go Crazy" which is as far as I know the B-side of Radio Ga Ga recorded during The Works sessions. Therefore because it's officialy released I deleted this track.

Fortunately this is without those irriting audience noises as do have much of the bootlegs versions I've heard. The sound quality is the best I've heard so far...but of course that's my opinion

sounds good. but is it really a FLAC since it was ripped from an internet radio-stream? as far as i know the online bitrate maximum is 256 kbps. anyway, thanks for this upload.

As for the format and bitrate - these files look (and sound) like perfectly good lossless files when checking the spectral view in Adobe Audition. Maybe they could be downloaded, and not web-ripped?

These are the cleanest versions I've heard of these tracks !!

Alot of the bootlegs I've heard of the '77 BBC session have cuts or fade-outs of Melancholy Blues, and WWRY - so this is EXCELLENT !!

Again - an essential recording !!!

A better version exists, but this one is also pretty good.

I think that John S Stuart owns the best version avaiable, because if i´m not mistaken, he has the masters from the radio show.

Exactly.
I compared this recording to my mp3 version, and my version has a better "balanced" treble and bass sound, but this one is lossless :-)

Thanks for this...excelent sound...it turned me on in a heartbeat...!

But don't tell me that the boys played 'I Go Crazy' at this session...

OK, John S Stuart has the best version. Do you think it is possible to share here a lossless version of this version ?

Well, maybe not from the masters, but lossless version of this session is not that rare. It was released on several vinyl-bootlegs ('Rarities' for instance) WAY before the digital era. They actually have a version on them that was transferred from a tape recorded during broadcast.

Sorry, at the moment I am not technically able to transfer my vinyl to the computer.

Yes, you're right, I recall having this vinyl somewhere, and that it contains those tracks. Unfortunately I am in the same case, not technically possible for me to transfer my Lp to computer (no turntable, so I could not hear it).

No matter which link i try to download, I get warning:"The requested link is unavaible or cannot be fount, try later"
I've never had this problem with mediafire, what should I do?
