Muse

What do you think of this band? I personally think it's great and actually it's the best band in the planet... I'm from from Argentina and here the band it's almost unknown. I would like to know what do you think of that guys, specially british fans of Queen (many times Muse were compared to Queen and Radiohead). Sorry for my english. Cheers

The Queen comparation comes for the pseudo classic use of piano I think. Songs like "Butterflies and Hurricanes" (the middle part)and "Space Dementia" (what a great song!!!). Also, in the last album in a song called Soldier's Poem they use armonies which remind me a lot Queen. Anyway, I think they have their own sound and their show it's so powerfull (I only saw them on video, they've never come to Argentina and I wish they will!)
The Radiohead comparation comes for the voice of Matt Bellamy (very similar to Thom's Yorke one) and the atmosphere of the songs (I don't know how to name that, depressive in somewhere I think)...That's only my opinion. I hope for yours too...

I think they are absolutely wonderful. I'm becoming a big fan. Unfortunately not many people over here have heard of them.

If that's so, then your first pick would be 'OK Computer', and then 'The Bends'.

Anything Radiohead has put out after 'OK Computer' is just fuckin weird, with a certain degree of brilliance, but mostly weird. I personally don't get the hype everytime a Radiohead album comes out. It's been 7 years since I got 'Kid A' and I still don't get it.

I remember once Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater saying that Muse took the musical direction that he wished Radiohead would have followed, and I couldn't agree more with that statement.

They are amazing!! I love their stuff, and they are one of the few bands I've seen that is ALMOST better live than on a CD. Almost.

I am not posting anything here. This seems to be a Muse appreciation thread, not a Muse bashing thread, so I'll keep myself outside. So don't tease me about it. I don't want to act like certain idiots on this website who enter threads about bands just to bash them.

I have no doubt to say that Muse is the best live band on earth right now. I've seen them 6 times already, and everytime I go it feels like the first. I love how Matt changes riffs and distorts guitar solos, so you don't feel like you're watching the same thing over and over again. I can't wait for that Wembley DVD to come out.

Muse live shows are just beyond amazing, and if you don't believe me, see it for yourself. Check that killer riff at the end.

oh i Love Muse! After The Queen they're my favourite! i saw them live in Monaco last summer, even if i follw them since they're second work.
