I thought if you wanted to play like Eddie or Stevie you HAD to buy one of those new authentics for $25,000.

Brian and Eddie both made (or customized) their guitars for maybe $100 or so. If some rich guy wants to buy an 'authentic' to show all his buddies, hey good on you! But you certainly don't have to spend five grand to achieve a good tone.

I actually wouldn't mind buying one. It is a little on the expensive side. God knows I could use the $5K on something useful, like payoff my car or invest it, but I dunno. They're great handmade guitar.

Well I've heard enough cookie-cutter crap from Ibanez JEM owners to know that money isn't everything.

This looks a pleasant guitar, but I'd never part with mine. For one thing, I've fallen in love with the white scratchplate. Hah. There goes my resale value.
