God Gave Rock and Roll To You

Go listen to it a few times, you'll cheer up.
But make sure it's the Argent version, because Rod Argent rocks.

I just listened to this, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It's not what I was expecting at all, to be honest. I'm interested in knowing how it was recorded/produced?[/QUOTE]I composed mostly of those parts on guitar, except the piano of course. And recorded them via MIDI. That's how I write my pieces.

Then, Juan Manuel, a good friend of mine helped me coverting MIDI into whatever it is that sounds on the audio file. I don't know what it is or what he does but he's done a very good work and I was very pleased when I listened to it. After a few tests, we managed to make it sound more "natural" if you will and I could finally balance the volume values. Even tho it's not perfect, it's infinitely better than MIDI sound. It's closer to my idea of how the piece should sound.

And we were trying to convert the other parts of the suite but we had some kind of weird problem with the third movement... when we fix that, I guess we'll finish the other movements. And I'll upload them, if you want.

BTW, what were you expecting?

A) That's pretty interesting.

B) Neo-classical metal guitar, or at least something based on the overdriven or distorted electric guitar.
Creativity can always cover for a lack of knowledge.
I was expecting guitar as well.

Well... the funny thing is I FUCKING HAAAATE HEAVY METAL.

Except Malmsteen's first three records (and not even all the songs) I can't stand any neo-classical shit. It sounds the same to me, over and over and over again.

Metal sucks.

Interestingly enough, I admit to loving metal (with the exception of extreme metal), and I especially love glam metal. For some reason, when you admit that, you tend to lose a little credibility in music circles, but hey - I know what I like.

It also often sounds like cats disembowelling each other in an alleyway. I really can't get enough feline dismemberment, let me tell you.

What about Jason Becker? *rolls eyes*

He's the only neo-classical guitarist I see as some kind of idol.
