She loved everything and can’t wait to wear her lip gloss. After dinner, she told me to sit and SHE did the dishes. Now THAT’s sweet. :-)

We made popcorn and watched The Village. Not exactly a ‘romantic’ movie, but it was me and my kid, so... all was good. And then tonight, while I’ll sit home, she’ll attend a Valentine dance with her homeschooling friends. An odd reversal of roles there... shouldn't I be the one out dancing??? :-/

It doesn’t have to be about lovers, you know. I have my daughter and we had a wonderful Valentine’s. It’s about showing people you care... and if you happen to get a little, well, that’s a bonus. If not, and you think it's just a crappy day, then try going to a nursing home and handing out store-bought valentines to the residents there. You’ll see in a flash just how special the day (and the simple gesture) can be to some people.

I did set fire to a nursing home today, some of the residents did seem to appreciate the gesture.

Today was a total bust; that is, until I got ASKED OUT.
