I agree.

Its a cute sentiment but it doesn't really mean anything when you consider that you'd better make the most of today because you may not be around tomorrow.

But of course I just want to dance like there's no tomorrow.

I always thought that he meant Fucking as in sex.

So he wanted sex today, because it was tomorrow. Which doesn't make sense at all. And in my mind should be 'Fuck today, live tomorrow'.

But if you see it like 'Fuck today, cause I live for the future" then I understand it.



I stand corrected

It's quite similar to Jim Steinman's 'it doesn't matter what we lose, it only matters what we're going to find'. Because 'what we lose' is in preset (hence, today) and 'what we're going to find' is going-to future (tomorrow).

First of all, I don't think he really put much thought into this quote because he really just randomly says it off the top of his head as a funny answer to the question. That being said, who knows if he really believed what he was saying or if he messed up what he was trying to say, or even just joking.

Anyway, I understand the meaning to the original quote: "Fuck today, it's tomorrow". Like other people said, it basically means fuck today if you're having a bad day or if it's not going great, because tomorrow is coming quickly and you can restart it all then. Kind of like saying "live for tomorrow" or "tomorrow brings another day". I like the quote as it is and even if he didn't mean it that way, I do find it inspiring.

However, I actually prefer the backwards version of the quote. "Fuck tomorrow, it's today". I think that way just makes a lot more sense and it's really smart and inspiring. It basically means to live in the moment. Stop worrying about tomorrow, fuck tomorrow- because right now it's today.

Both ways are pretty cool and unlike whoever said Freddie was a "shit philosopher", I actually love Freddie's quotes and I think he was brilliant and beautiful and he inspires me every day. :)

I'd say that he has started to 'fuck today' and all of the sudden 'it's tomorrow'. Fred had stamina or he fucked really late, closer to midnight.

Surely the quote is about deferred gratification. If I work hard or study hard today,then tomorrow my rewards will be greater. If I mess around today, then tomorrow I will reap nothing. The Pink Floyd song "Time" highlights this > "Then one day you realise ten years have got behind you, noone told you when to run, you missed the starting gun!"

In order to really live in the moment you have to somehow organise beforehands.
Freddie was highly motivated always coming up with grandiose ideas plus pussing the limits.
The thing is, he was in the position to make them true.But the rush you get from planing your "next step" often surpasses the actuall "making it true" of it.

Also

Therefore the quote quite fits his personality i think

Wasn't it "let's fuck today until it's tomorrow"? That sounds exactly like late-'70s-early-'80s Freddie to me!

It kinda make sense if you think about music - you "have to" be one step ahead. My thoughts, of course(!), I don't remember the context.
