Comments:

Great performance from Oakland 1978 during the Jazz Tour. The sound quality is Very Good, but it could be better because it is recorded a bit too loud. It can sound sharp on some parts as it is lacking bass, but the vocals are very clear and the overall concert is enjoyable. In some spots the audience noise can be heard very loud and closeby. Some dirty talking from Freddie during this concert ;-).

Well no, only four of the tracks look lossy so that means either an incomplete lossless source was filled in with a lossy source or the tracks came from a tape with limited frequency response or the analyser was wrong...! Bob will undoubtedly know the various sources of this gig.

I have exactly the same source and i've just analysed Dreamers Ball with EAC. It seems to me it is clearly lossless even if the spectrum looks a little bit strange. There's even any black hole in the spectrum and not drop in the line.

I don't think it's mp3 sourced, it looks a bit like the Barcelona'79 recording which also caused some trouble with EAC...

Here's a quote from the Barcelona thread:

"...it's not mp3...it's more like the spectrum of a (slightly decayed) seventies audio-cassette, probably ferro (CRO2 has a little more high-end...in general). The dynamic range of those tapes was roughly between 16 and 14000Hz. The recording device must also have set it's limmets though"

Hiss reduction or "remastering" can also be an option...

Just listened to some bits! This is a fantastic show! Freddie sounds really good and the rest of the band is on fire. I love it when they are full of energy, entertaining their audience like few other bands with the power that only the very best live rock bands can create. The recording certainly is enjoyable aswell, so great upload!:-)
