I've got a question: When I'm listening to any audience recording of the magic tour it always sounds like the sound was a bit thin on this tour!
So my qustion o those who were there back than: Is it just an ilusion and I just picked the recordings which were recorded a bit bad or was the sound a bit thin on this tour? (On the recordings of earlyer tours i think it does not sound as thin as the magic tour)

i went to gigs at both tours - bham nec 84
and wembley and knebworth 86 - so i feel i am making a fair judgment
works tour had a much thinner sound....very tinny and very poor use of synths imo

I was @ Newcastle'86 - the sound was OK - could've been louder but certainly not 'thin'
The drum sound on that tour was far superior to Works tour, and the guitar was higher in the mix if memory serves me correctly

The majority of The Magic Tour was in stadiums, unlike The Works Tour, with the concerts being held in Arenas.... maybe that has something to do with your theory.
I saw a Works concert in Birmingham at The NEC and the sound was awesome and very, very loud. I saw The Magic Tour in Manchester, and again, the sound was excellent (apart from having to listen to Bellouis Some.... whatever they were called).
