Time to start to talk about the EC... what do you guys think? Who's gonna be the champion this year?

I think it's gonna be close between Italy, Germany and Portugal. I think Ronaldo will make the difference in the end...

About Italy... first they have to beat Holland. And we have a secret weapon! xD

football has always been a game played for 90 minutes and then the Germans win on penalties

but as a 'neutral' this year i'm looking forward to seeing someone kicking 7 shits out of the 'diving porteugese winker' known as Ronaldo.

i cant see it being an open finals this time but the Polish may spring a surprise or two.

im gonna go with Italy though or the Germans on penalties ;-]
isnt innuendo an italian suppository? im gonna ride the wild wind! its_a_hard_life wrote:you nutcase you rule! joxer replies: but in a nice way :-]

You BRAT! I was just gunna quote you on the "Football for 90 minutes and then the Germans win on penalties" thing you told me over MSN! *Huff*
Lord knows that won't even be on TV here; I kinda wish it was so I could watch it and maybe start to understand the game a bit, but without someone to explain the game to me I doubt watching it on my own would do any good at all. 3 "football" games with the German in September were not enough to allow me to even get a gist of the game.

Italy is always a candidate but there are other teams like for example Croatia, Holland and France. Portugal has excellent players but somehow they never win a final (and don't start me on Ronaldo...)

I hear that Germany is named as a candidate but I don't believe the team is good enough but then German teams always do better than expected.

If I had to bet I would bet on Croatia.
I do not want any google ads here.
Forza Azzurri!

In my opinion it will either be Italy, France, Germany or Portugal....no coincidence that these 4 teams made up the semi finals at the World Cup two years ago. All four still have very strong teams.

Although it would be stupid to forget about Holland or Romania, the latter especially could be a real surprise.

As for Spain, will the curse of underachievement still haunt them?

As for the Italy/France/Romania/Holland showdown, i'm really looking forward to it!

Roberto Donadoni uses no such tactics, and hopefully never will. Italy haven't played like that since the days of Giovanni Trapattoni, a hopeless tactician at international level who should have retired years ago....good luck to Ireland with him.

Aberdeen will win.

Furia Roja!!!!!!

I'll go with Spain of course :P

Then I will wait what happens with Holland also :).

And... last but not least... I wanna drool while I see Cristiano Ronaldo, too damn hot xD!!!!

PS: Martijn, while you're with me, don't wear such thing -.-'.

If I had to bet I would bet on Croatia.[/QUOTE] i wish i could be optimistic like you but i'm not, our level has dropped in comparison to qualifing stage, our defence is suspicous ( to say at least ), kovac and simunic are mistake prone and our coach dosen' t have the strenght to replace them because of their past, our attack is weaker withouth eduardo, i only trust our midfield which i consider top 3 of the championships, now you can ask how can i not believe in a team that qualifed easily and in process threw england out, there are 3 reasons, 1.eduardo da silva injury 2. bilic changed, he dosent take risks anymore, risks that brought the success in the first place, his vision is blocked because he started to make compromises 3. the whole atmosphere has relaxed too much, playes are making commercials, the coach is making music and plays in videos, i think we lost the edge after great performances in the qualies, i seriously hope i'm wrong

But let the squadra azzuri surprise me in a positive way this time..... not against Holland though. ;)
I got to try al little more, because I'm an asshole but I'm learning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfTLkUcQ7QY
I think most of European football these days is leaning towards a slightly 'cautious' style of play, although i wouldn't label it defensive or negative.

Except Glasgow Rangers....their tactics were just horrible and boring. Although a ten man defence did let them reach the Uefa Cup final....
Crazy Little Thing Called Love....
I'm still being optimistic about the whole thing although it's pretty fucked up the thing that Eduardo Da Silva won't be playing :P
I'm sick of all my kicks.
