ANNOUNCE: Queen's guide to Japan: Budokan throughout the years, MEDIAFIRE

Disclaimer: The title is just a way to make it more fun, it's not an unknown bootleg or so on.

Hi people!

Well, I believe in Flac. Hahaha. In God, too, and Jews of the world (not news), please, you can say write and speak and shout GOD, there's no problem, it's an indo-european word, no lightning will strike you on the head.

That being said, I'm just attending requests by users and hopefully helping spread the files in good quality.

It's a Queen's guide to Japan: a good guide.

1) First, the concert YourValentine has recently shared via torrent - Queen live at the Budokan, Tokyo, 14th April, 1979.

I decided to upload this one to mediafire because, according to Barb herself, and even though that's always subjective I pretty much agree with her on that, because the sound quality is better than the second one from the Wardour set.

2) The second concert I'm uploading to mediafire is a must-have to any Queen fan - MUST HAVE. That means: you don't have it, man, you have to have it in order not to be in an awkward situation of not having it, because it's a good concert and, some will argue, some will argue, I tell you, it's the best concert from the Works Tours.

It's an upgrade, originally uploaded by SirGH, of an already excellent version of Queen's concert at...Budokan, Tokyo, may 9, 1985!

So, very good shares, people: let's thank Barbara and SirGH and the tapers and all those involved in this for making it avaiable in such good quality.

Let's thank them in good style, with vocal harmonies: you go for the highest notes, I play the bass role: THANK YOU, SIRGH, BARBARA AND EVERYONE INVOLDED IN THIS.

Pittrek, I wanted so badly to know which programs I can use to correct speed and this kind of stuff so I can do more organized series. I came across a program, it was Sound Forge, but I don't have a clue about how to use that! Ok, it'll be part of my graduation, this engineering things, but in about 2 years from now. Hahaha. I hope Queenzone is still there!

So, if you, or any other kind user would be so kind as to help me out with this, I'd be really glad.

I know you're very busy and have to do many things at work, so I don't wanna bother you. So, if there are users who feel like giving me a hand and have the time to explain me these things (lol), I'd be glad, really.

Self-education, yes, it should be like this in the internet era, but...you know, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer; not even close to being. :-)

I can try something :)

I am using Cool Edit Pro, which is pretty old so I don't think there is a legal way how to get it now, but its development continued as Adobe Audition.

There is a menu Effects -> Time/Pitch -> Stretch, any good sound editor should have a similar function.

You need to know the correct length of a section which you can get by using your ears or by finding a section for which you know the correct length, a good example is Procession or the opera section of Bohemian Rhapsody.

So if you have the section, you have the actual length and the correct length, which means that you also know the ratio. You now have to stretch the whole track (album) with that ratio.

The problem occurs if the speed isn't constant but changes during the recording, then it requires MUCH more time and good nerves :)

Yup. The bridge to the arpeggiated chords and then what sounds as a improvisation bear close resemblance to one of the sub-themes of Liszt's first Mephisto Waltz - it works as a sub-theme in Liszt's waltz, but as a bass-line in Freddie's intro, and the intervals are pretty close though there's some transposition and changes in the tempo, of course, but the contour, as we say, of the sub-theme is there, he just went down a bit to make it sound darker - which is very Lisztian too, by the way. It's hard to believe it's a coincidence because these pieces are very well-known among pianists.

Just, of course, my most humble opinion.
