There are indeed some cracking performances out there!
But isnt it during Liar at Houston that something weird happens like Brian breaks a string, and theres a massive pause before the clean guitar comes in leading to "I have sinned.....", presumably to change guitars?

I'd have to say STL from On Fire. Freddie is amazing & the rest of the band is clearly hitting their stride. If asked to play one song to represent an example of live Queen, I would put this on everytime.
There are many highlights, but somehow Tokyo 01.05.1975 brings nice feelings to me. What a killer setlist!

Roger compensated very well for Brian's broken string ... and it sounded to me like sort of a "mystical" transition from the instrumental to the vocals.

In fact, the only songs where I can say to my satisfaction that the best performance is found on an official video are "Somebody to Love" (from the Bowl, just a beautiful rendition) and "Hammer to Fall" (from Live Aid, and even then I hesitate--they didn't play the whole song!).
Most of the "definitive" live performances of the band's songs can be heard, in my opinion, on the Crazy and Game tours, when Freddie's voice was at its absolute peak.

A hilarious moment, no doubt, but there were better performances of the song out there.
