A few years ago - and I' think this was in Holland - I saw a book in the shops, and it featured as its cover Queen's THE MIRACLE album 4 faces seamlessly joined/merged concept.
I think this one had 5 faces joined. I can't recall if it was a music related book, but I think the cover was red/orange, not blue (I could be wrong on this detail). It certainly borrowed its concept from the Queen LP.
Does anyone know about this book? I'd like to find a copy of it and possibly feature it in the Queen Memorabilia book as one of the many things that was inspired by the Queen cover. It's just an idea for the moment.
Does anyone remember it??
Ta very much - that nice Greg B.

Yes, remember it.
Indeed a music biography. The band is called Di-rect, a then quit popular teen-rockband from The Hague, The Netherlands.
They indeed used their faces (4, not 5!) on a plain BLUE (yes!) background
If you want to find it... you need to dig deep into the ramsh or second hand shops...
It's been loooong out of print.
Sorry, don't know any names of authors or publishers.
Do know I last saw it at Free Record Shop.
(A shitty Dutch chain of music stores.)

In Dutch... the person wants to sell it, taking offers, but it is signed by the band so the price might be a bit on the high side...

If Queen Productions *can* sue these people, please do! It might prevent them from producing more of the sounds they pass off as music...
Did Queen not steal their Queen Cover from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lsRu90jE88&feature=related

Wasn't there a book with such a cover that's about 'take that' too? I believe I once saw that in a dutch shop.

As I recall, one of the band members of Queen saw something in Tokyo which was pretty much he same thing as the Miracle sleeve wasn't it? So it wasn't their original idea either..
It's on GVH2, the making of the Miracle Cover

Please don't feature this DI-RECT cover in the IWIA book.
Actually it'd been done before in the early 70's by another band.

In those days of course, there being no computers to do the editing with, they had to use multiple exposures and considerable amounts of airbrushing for the desired effect.
Having said that, it's basically the same deal - and I really do think Queen may have 'borrowed' the idea.
Ah well.

Because they are an absolutely terrible band; completely artificial and stooges to the record company that owns them. Imagine the worst parts of every boy-band ever, add muzak to that, and you're approaching DI-RECT.
